I was currently in the new Mikaelson Mansion in Mystic Falls. I had yet to see any of the people I once knew here. But there was talk of them holding a ball to get the town together. Let them know who they are and where they all stand.
"Frankie? Love?" I turned my head as Nik came up behind me, his arms wrapping around my waist as he pulls my back to him. "What are you baking, love?" I sighed, leaning into him slightly as I kept stirring the pot of orange curd as it thickened. I had gotten over the fact that others would be in the kitchen with me now. Or at least, I was okay with my mates being in the kitchen with me.
"Chocolate Orange tarts.. For the ball. It's good finger food." I told him, leaning my head to the side as he nuzzled his nose into my neck. Closing my eyes as he pressed small kisses to my skin.
"You should take a break. You don't need to bake for the ball... We can hire people for that." I let out a long sigh.
"Nik- I like baking." I told him in a low whisper. Nik nodded, pressing his nose to my neck as he inhaled.
"Can I help you at least?"
"What? So you can watch me bend over to put the crusts in the oven? Or so you can watch me lick chocolate off my hand when it inevitably gets on me?" I questioned as he pulled away from me. He placed his hand over his chest.
"I would never." He gasped. I let out a laugh, taking the pot off the heat as I turned to him. Dipping my finger in the melted chocolate and bringing it to his mouth. Nik didn't even hesitate, his eyes on me as he licked the chocolate from my finger. "Mmm tastes....zesty." He whispered with a smirk.
"Orange and chocolate are perfect for each other, aren't they?" I asked him with a smile.
"Just like us?" He purred, pulling me to him, squeezing my hips while doing so. I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Does that make me the chocolate or the orange?" I questioned. Nik's smirk widened.
"Chocolate. Definitely."
"Because I'm sweet?" I asked.
"Well that and you can be very bitter when you lose at the Game of Life." He laughed. I gasped, smacking his shoulder as he released me.
"That's not funny! I should be good that game! I've come back each time you would think I would be the ruler of that game." I huffed. A breeze hit me as another pair of arms wrapped around me from behind, yanking me away from Nik.
"You can be my ruler, my queen." I heard Kol whisper against my ear. I rolled my eyes as he pressed a tiny kiss to my earlobe.
"Kol.." I whisper, turning my head slightly only to have him press a kiss to my cheek.
"Isn't it my turn for a date now?" Kol questioned.
"You can be my date to the ball?" I brought up, but Nik sent a glare to Kol.
"The ball is where you are all of our dates, love. You can't be showing favorites now.." Nik spoke lowly. I nodded with a sigh.
"Fine. A date. Let me just finish up these tarts." I told them, moving to pull the crusts from the oven only for Finn to appear and help me remove the trays.
"Let us help you, angel." Finn stated, placing the trays on the counter carefully. I sighed, nodding.
"Okay- but I'm getting ready for Kol's date ALONE." I told them, my eyes narrowed as I glanced to each of them. Nik held his hands up as did Kol. Finn just smirked.
"If you say so, Frankie." Finn muttered.
We worked together finishing up the tarts. We made a huge amount and they were put into the cooler to let them set for tomorrows Ball.
I went upstairs to get ready. Elijah tried to pop in, but I made sure to lock the door behind me which resulted in him knocking a few times and leaving.
I took a deep breath. I loved it here. I did. But it was hard never being alone. I knew why they were staying near me though. The amount of times I've died or nearly died. I knew they were suffocating me with good reason. But the hour I took to get ready, was so nice. I was happy with my outfit choice though. And I'm sure Kol would be as well.
