My head hurt. The lingering taste of something unfamiliar in my mouth. Someone stroking my hair. I opened my eyes slowly to see a man with brown eyes and short brown hair staring down at me. My eyes widened as I jerk away from him. My mind hazy.
"Hey...hey! Frankie it's okay. You met me last night.. I'm Kol." He said holding his hands up in surrender. My body relaxed slightly.
"Kol..." I blinked a few times, last night returning to me. "Wh-what happened?"
"You passed out and hit your head." My hand shot up to my head. "I healed you. You might feel hungover if anything." I nodded slowly, "Finn is making you breakfast."
"He's in my kitchen?" I questioned. He nodded, confused. I jumped up, stumbling some only for Kol to catch me.
"Hey, careful there, sweetheart." He whispered, holding my hips to steady me. Tingles went through me at his touch. A mixture of nausea and joy running through me. I pulled away from him, the nausea winning the battle. I didn't notice the look of rejection in Kol's eyes as I moved to leave my bedroom. When I walked out of my room, eyes were on me like I was some celebrity. I noticed Elijah and Nik were on the couch with Rebekah in the chair. A loud crash sounded in the kitchen making me run to the sound. A man stood, who I assumed to be Finn, in the kitchen with a carton of eggs on the floor.
"Frankie?" Finn asked, shock on his face and then embarrassment washed over him. "I'm sorry- I was just trying to make you-" I held my hand up to him, shaking my head.
"It's fine. Go sit with the others, I'll take care of this." I told him as I grabbed the bucket under the sink.
"But-I can help-" He tried but I shook my head.
"Kitchen is off limits to everyone." I mutter and start scooping up the egg and tossing it into the bucket. Finn made an inaudible noise before walking out of the kitchen. I let out a sigh after getting the egg off the floor, leaning back for a moment to breath. The kitchen was my sacred place. Something no one understood. Every lifetime I had, the kitchen was the one place a man would never step foot into. It was safe. My safe place was tainted now. I knew that Elijah had to have been in here as well, since he did have tea last night.. but seeing someone in here..I let out a shaky breath, standing up.
Pulling out some pastry dough I had on hand already, I started on making breakfast.

After cleaning the kitchen up and pouring some tea, I placed the chocolate croissants onto a tray with the tea and my coffee.
Picking it up and bringing it out to the living room. Nik was pacing the room, looking anxious, while the others were in their own spots. Sitting, standing, Kol was leaning against the wall, while the others took up spaces at the sofa and chair. Nik stopped his pacing when I entered and sped over to help me with the tray.
"What's going on??" I questioned, feeling the tension in the room. A small cough leaving my mouth. None of the guys said anything, so Rebekah sighed.
"You were in the kitchen for so long you stressed them out. They all thought you would get killed in there." She muttered, rolling her eyes.
"I never died in the kitchen.." I whisper softly. Kol was staring at the croissants on the tray, Elijah already accepted a tea cup happily. "Help yourselves, there's plenty. Kol bounced over grabbing a pastry and biting into it quickly. Groaning as he did. A blush rushed up my cheeks at the sound which had Nik and Elijah both smirking. Finn stood up and walked over to me.
"I'm sorry about the mess." He apologized. "It'll never happen again, I promise." I shook my head at him.
"I'm not upset, Finn.. It's just-The kitchen is my safe place.." Kol and Rebekah shared a look. Nik and Elijah both looked at me somewhat confused.
"You lot are idiots." Rebekah muttered. "A man never steps foot into a kitchen." She explained. Finn looked at me, but I walked away, grabbing my coffee as I did and went back to my room. Drinking my coffee as I grabbed a change of clothes and moving to the shower.
Getting dressed after I dried off. Walking out of my room to see everyone just sitting around. Kol jumped up and ran up to me.
"Please don't leave me with these people anymore.." He pleaded, his brown eyes almost matched those of a puppy begging for a treat. I smiled at him and nodded.
"So what's the next death we are looking for?" Rebekah asked. I coughed a bit as I thought about it. The 1300s were a dark time, I barely remembered it.
"Frankie?" I looked up at Kol who was studying me. "What year was your next death?"
"1300s.. I think about 1378-" A cough racked through my body again, pulling my hand back I saw some blood on my palm. My body swaying as Kol moved forward quickly, catching me.
"You wouldn't have died from the Black Death, did you?" Kol asked as he held me to him. "We need to find a way to stop this." His voice directed to his siblings as he swept me up, holding me to him as he moved me to my room. This was turning into a terrible first meeting with my supposed Soulmates.
