This was a crazy year. Miranda and Grayson Gilbert died this year. I was at the funeral but stayed back since I wasn't really involved in Elena Gilbert's life. I felt for her though. Losing anyone was a difficult event to endure. That wasn't the crazy thing though. The man lurking in the background of the funeral was what really confused me.
"Stefan?" I questioned when I had walked next to him. His head snapped to me quickly, shock and confusion filling his eyes.
"Frankie?? How-you died? How are you here? You're young-" I gave him a strange look.
"Why are you so confused? We talked in the 20's..You don't remember..?" Stefan scrunched his eyebrows together in more confusion.
"The 20s were an empty part of my life. You saw me in the 20s?" I nodded slowly.
"What do you mean it is an empty part of your life? You don't remember any of 20s, at all? We partied together. You had gone full ripper- but that didn't stop us from having fun." Stefan tilted his head some.
"So you know about Vampires." I nodded with an odd look in return.
"Want to go to the Boarding house? We can talk, catch up and what not." Stefan nodded, following me to my truck.
-
It was a silent drive. I wouldn't completely say awkward, but odd. Stefan just stared out the window the whole drive.
"Okay, seriously. Why are you here, Stefan?" I asked him as we pull into the driveway. Stefan turned to look at me, a guilty look on his face. "Oh god! No!!" I exclaimed, smacking his arm as I turned to look at him in the truck. "Tell me you are not here for Elena." He looked away from me, that was all I needed. "Stefan Salvatore!! You are stalking this poor girl! And why? Because she looks like Katherine? That is on so many levels of Creepy. Like Edward Cullen creepy." He gave me a weird look.
"Edward Cullen?"
"You've lived nearly 162 years and haven't watched Twilight?" I questioned, as he shook his head. "Dear lord, why do this to me?" I asked looking at the ceiling of the truck. Stefan laughed, shaking his head at me.
"How are you alive, Frankie?" I sighed and looked at him.
"Thats a really long story. One I've told way too many times." I told him with a small smile. With that I started to explain to him about how I was born in 985ad and how I died many times since then. Told him about the Mikaelson's and how they are the reason I'm still alive.
"So the Mikaelson's..They are the Original Vampires?" I nodded slowly. "And they are you're soulmates?"
"Well Niklaus, Elijah, and the other two brothers are. Rebekah I believe has a thing for you." I teased. Stefan looked at me like I was crazy.
"Wow." He breathed. "So you are born and die and back again? Always the same name? Same parents?" I nodded.
"Basically. My mom always dies when I turn 14. I always die at 17."
"But you're not 17 now?" I shrugged.
"I'm 21 now. First time I hit the legal drinking age. Sheila gave me this-" I lift the stone from under my black blouse, showing him. "It's the powers of the Bennett ancestors in a stone to protect me."
"Because of Emily?"
"Emily helped, she was the one who got the scale stone and helped project the ancestors into it. But I was friends with Annie Bennett and Sarah Bennett back in the Salem Witch Trails period." Stefan raised his eyebrows and widened his eyes, trying to process it.
"You were around during the Salem Witch Trails..." I let out a small giggle.
"I was burned at the stake, so yes." His eyes widened and stared at me. "Calm down, Stefan. I've died in worse ways. That was actually a fun time. I got to pretend to curse Mayor Lockwood. Should have seen his face. So pale." Stefan let out a laugh, shaking his head at my odd humor.
"So you remember everything? No need to write it down or anything?" I nodded. "I am so sorry, Frankie. Wow." Stefan went to get out of the truck, I followed. Leading us to the door before he turned around. "Wait.. That day back in 1864... You knew Katherine..didn't you??" I sighed, nodding.
"One of my many pasts. Katerina Petrova. Quite a character. She used to be very different you know?"
"So you knew her before the whole vampire thing." I again nodded at his questions as we walk into the house. "Wow. I couldn't even imagine how it would have been to grow up with her." I laughed at that.
"She wasn't bad back then. Very sweet and kind. We were actually best friends." Flashes of the night of her daughter being born and coming back only to see her family slaughtered flashed into my mind. Shaking my head while blinking, I smiled. "So are you doing the whole school thing? It's boring you know. Once you've lived through it all, everyone else just seems stupid and snobby." Stefan chuckled, nodding.
"Yeah, well it's an easy way to meet Elena." Rolling my eyes I gave him a look.
"You know I could just introduce you. I may not be bff's with the girl, but I do know her." I laughed as Stefan pursed his lips. "You want to do the whole school thing, don't you?" He nodded sheepishly. I let out a laugh, earning a nudge from him. "This is going to be an interesting next few years, aren't they?"
"Yeah- I guess they will be."
With that we caught up on some things, drinking and laughing like old friends.
