Waking up, my neck hurt. Like I slept on it wrong on or something. I stretched some, trying to pop the kink out.
"Frankie?" I snapped my eyes open to see Kol sitting on the edge of the bed looking at with so much concern. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine? Just slept wrong, I think." I mutter as I try to roll my head a bit to loosen my neck. Kol scrunched his eyebrows together.
"You don't remember?" I looked at him confused.
"Remember?" I realized I don't remember going to bed. "How did I- I was in the basement.." I looked at the yellow comforter, trying to remember what had happened. "Esther did something to me- It was like I wasn't in control.. How is that-"
"She still has her witchy friends on the other side. We believe they clouded your mind." Kol explained. I nodded. That sounded right.
"She fed me her blood- Am I..?" Kol stared at me, but shook his head.
"I can still hear your heartbeat. You were out for a few hours. Your heart came back after about an hour."
"I was dead for a whole hour?!" I exclaimed, shocked. "Why didn't it work? I should be in-"
"Transition. Yeah, we haven't figured out what happened yet. Elijah is talking to some of his witch friends right now." Kol told me, he moved closer, laying down in the bed with me and pulling me to him. "You really scared me. Nik was the one who heard you scream. When we got to you..you were on the floor. I thought-"
"I'm alright, Kol." I told him as he moved to curl into me, his head moving to my chest as he listens to my heart beating against my chest. I moved my hand to his head, carding my fingers through his hair. "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." I told him trying to calm him down.
"Promise?" Kol asked. I paused my fingering of his hair causing him to lift his head to look at me. "Frankie?"
"I-I promise, Kol." I told him with a smile. Kol grinned and moved up, kissing me gently on the lips.
"Good. I think the witches are trying to find a way around this reincarnation thing you have going for you. Something about being connected to us made it so you couldn't be changed by Esther. Who is dead now. Nik ripped her heart out when we found you." I tilted my head at him.
"You want me to be a Vampire?" I asked him, ignoring the other bit. I was really curious what Kol wanted me to do.
"I- It's your choice in the end, sweetheart." Kol said, but his eyes showed what he really wanted.
"You do." I breathed looking at him. Kol frowned. "It's okay, Kol. It's not bad to want things." I assured him, sitting up and pressing a short kiss to his lips.
"I just- I've lived a long time without anyone steady in my life." He started, placing his hand on my cheek gently. "I don't- I can't lose you, Frankie. I don't know what I would do if-"
"Hey- I'm not going anywhere."
"But you already did, Frankie. You left all of us because of some stupid thing Nik said. Not that I blame you, he's an idiot. But you left..." I looked at Kol, my heart breaking at the look he was giving me.
"But you came to see me- everyday." I mentioned, trying to make some kind of excuse for myself. The guilt in me bubbling as I watch Kol shake his head.
"I'm not trying to make you feel bad, Frankie." He told me calmly. "I just-"
"It wasn't enough." I nodded. I reached over and grabbed Kol's hand as I stood up out of the bed. "Let's go see what they have found out." I told him, pulling him out of bed.
"I already know-"
"Not everyone has super hearing, Koala bear." I teased. Kol stared at me for a moment before grinning at me.
"Koala bear?" I nodded, smiling and pulling him out of the room.
-
"Frankie! You shouldn't be out of bed, love." Nik said as I pulled Kol to the bottom of the stairs. He vamped over to me and looked me over, checking for any injury's or flaws in my body.
"I'm fine, Nik. What did I miss? Do they have any solutions?" I asked, looking towards the witches that I recognized from St. Louis when they brought Henrik back.
"We- uh.. have some theory's. None we will try." He said. I could tell he was wanting to try them. I took in a breath.
"What are they then?" I asked, looking past Nik to the others. Elijah was looking at me like he was lost. Finn and Henrik looked worried. I don't know why though, maybe for how I react? Rebekah was sitting on the sofa, when I looked at her she offered me a smile. I smiled softly back at her before turning to one of the witches I recognized. "Well? Tell me." She glanced to Elijah and then back to me.
"We know how to cancel out the reincarnation. But it's not that simple." The witch tried. I turned from her to Elijah as he walked over to me.
"We can turn you into an Original..Like us." Elijah stated shortly. "Once you are a-"
"Vampire." I filled in for him since he seemed to be struggling. Elijah nodded, his eyes meeting mine.
"Vampire- you can be killed.."
"For good." The witch finished for him. "If that's what you want." She added when Nik and Kol both came up next to me and glared at her. I raised my hand to them, stopping them.
"I wouldn't come back? Ever?" I questioned. My eyes only looking at her, not wanting to see the look on the others faces.
"Yes. You would be permanently gone." She answered, truthfully.
"Okay then. How do we do it?" I looked over to see Kol looking broken, just like everyone else was. "I'm not doing this to die. I'm doing this to be able to protect myself. To be with you all longer instead of coming back every hundred years." I reassured them. I could have sworn that they all released a breath.
"You actually are willing to become like us?" Nik asked, a bit shocked. I turned to look at him, a small smile on my face.
"Maybe not today, but soon.." I grabbed his hand gently, squeezing. Nik looked down at our hands and smiled. "I just- I need a week or so-"
"That's fine, love. We'll get things ready for you." Nik said with a smile. Henrik got up and walked over to me.
"For now, I would like to take you out." He announced, leaning over and pressing a kiss to my cheek.
"Well then, let's go."
