Chapter 27

Noroi swings her sword but the spirit dodges her attack making her click her tongue in annoyance.

'So that's her'

"Get back here—" thick roots came out from the ground and she sliced it. Her eyes turned sharp and, spinning the sword in her hand, she sliced the root that appeared behind her brother, surprising him.

"The hell are you three standing for?!" They snapped out. "Let's leave!" She shouted and her shadow stretched. "Can you bring more than one person to your realm?!" Megumi worriedly asked, worried she would strain her brain.

"Yeah—" they move away from each other to dodge the sharp root. "You" Noroi ducked her head dodging its punch. "You're Noroi" she was shocked when she said her name.

'How did it know my name—'

Noroi gritted her teeth for letting her guard down even for a split second after getting herself stunned hearing her name from its name.

"Noroi!" Branch wrapped itself around her wrist and Noroi hissed, dropping her sword when thorns appeared piercing her skin.

That wasn't it, the branch swung her, slamming her to the building and Megumi managed to slice the branch before it could swing Noroi again.

"I'm going to kill you," Noroi growled, rubbing her head glaring at it. "Don't you mean exorcise, sorcerer?" She gritted her teeth, lips twitching, and run towards its direction.

"Stop!" She stopped running and the spirit's attack stopped. "We first need to get away from here!" Kamo shouted and Megumi dragged Noroi with them inside the building.

"Let me—"

"No" Megumi glared at her. "I know what you're thinking and don't think about doing it," he firmly said. "Coward" Noroi hissed, rubbing her arms. "Can't you see your state right now?!" He hissed back the two of them glaring at each other.

"Tuna Mayo!" 'This isn't the good time to have your sibling fight!' Inumaki told them, coughing. "Are you okay, Inumaki-senpai?" They worriedly asked and he nodded his head. "Salmon" he drinks his cough syrup to soothe his throat.

"Here it comes!!" Kamo shouted and they faced the spirit who was chasing them. There were four wooden balls and something sharp came out from it.

"Stop!"

Kamo launches an attack. "Convergence!" It didn't go unnoticed to her eyes on what happened to its eye-like branches.

'Is that?'

'He managed to hurt it! Was he just going easy on me?'

"Hurry! It'll heal and be after us again soon enough!" Kamo told him, the three of them running to the stairs.

Inumaki coughs again and he drinks his medicine.

'We'll have Inumaki stop it so we can keep some distance between us after we attack. We gotta do this if we're gonna have a chance of getting out of the curtain. We need to find the principal or go to Noroi's shadow... but how long can we keep this up? Inumaki's cursed speech is losing effect. We can't get in touch with the teachers either. It may even figure out a way to counter cursed speech. The curse's objective remains a mystery. There's a chance the principals and the other jujutsu sorcerers are immobilized. Finding Todo is a priority. Even Miwa would do at this point'

Kamo thought and the four of them jumped out of the door landing on the roof dodging the sharp woods.
