"Why is it always hard to get up on a Monday?", I groan to myself as I have to get up early . Surprisingly Leah who has classes as late as 10am is already up. She's seated on the carpet in a meditation position so I let her be, I grab my towel and head to the bathroom to freshen up. The warm water is relaxing and an excellent pore opener in that by the time am done showering, my whole body is awake and refreshed. Leah is still praying or meditating I can't tell the difference, I decide to wrap my hair in a towel and blow dry it later when she's done. I opt for black pants and a grey tank top with Minnie Mouse smiling at whoever cares, at least it will brighten up the not so good day. Why does Monday have to be full of lectures.
As am busy engrossed in my earth's physical environment, someone asks if the seat is taken the voice sounds awfully familiar. I cautiously look up to find Ray looking at me . I already regret why this day has to start like this. " what are you doing here? "I ask Ray disgusted by his presence already.
"I have this class too" he replies excitedly, "Oh God, you don't know how excited I am to have you in one of my classes". He continues as he settles to the seat on my right. " But wait, aren't you... " his sentence stops midway when he sees me plugging earphones in my ears. Am glad he gets the message that I don't want to talk to talk to him. Am more gratefully when the lecturer walks in and the problem seated next to me is temporarily forgotten.
When the lecture is done, am the first to get out but before I can rush out the door, someone grabs my hand and I don't need a seventh sense to know that it's Ray,
"Az, please talk to me" he says pleadingly.
"I have another class, so please let go" I talk back to him.
"Not that talking please" he continues to say but am in no mood to talk to him so I let my hand free and continue to my next class.
Ray's POV
I love Monday's, they are always fresh beginnings for a new week and a bright Monday always equals to a bright wonderful week. I wake up all geared up as I put on my sneakers, Kevin is up too ready to go jogging and he's claiming am delaying him up. Poor boy he can't go alone without me. I dare him to go alone and he claims he will get tired easily if he goes alone.
"I feel today is gonna be more than good man" I say to my best friend as we head out for our daily routine of jogging daily, he teases back saying am one of those crazy people who believe Monday is a lovely day.
Most of my days begin with a morning run so as to keep my organs healthy and my maintain my athletic body, after that I go for an a cold shower that I dread like nothing, dress up, pick up coffee and a banana before heading to class. Today I have a very busy schedule filled with lectures and practice but am still loving it .
I couldn't hide my excitement when I spot that hazelnut hair and her full concentration in the book. I had to go back outside and check whether it was the right room, how come we are having the same classes, even with her face engrossed in a textbook, I can still recognize her, my excitement doubles when I spot an empty seat next to her, I still can't understand what shes doing in freshman's classes. I immediately head for the empty seat before someone takes it. "Is the seat taken?" I ask her as I sink into it anyway. I start bombing her with questions right away and to my shock, she plugs in her earphones to inform me that she doesn't want to talk, the lecturer sadly walks in so I shift my attention to earth's physical environment and save my questions for later. As soon as the class is done, she jolts out of class at a lightening speed but am able to grab her hand before she storms off again. I need to talk to her and make amends. My pleas fall on deaf ears and she's really mad from her reaction so I chill and let her go.
We again have the last class together from my schedule. Am trying to there could be a possibility that were in the same year, Nevertheless I make sure I sit in front far away from her when she comes for the last lecture. since she won't talk to me, I will give her the space she needs. When our last class is done I head out to prepare for practice.
"Ray stop".
I almost fall with shock. When I regain my composure I smile a little before turning with a serious face. I knew she would come after me.
"Tsup" I ask her
"sorry about the way I behaved towards you in the morning"
"Ok, "
"Ummm do you have a minute"
"Am actually getting late for practice"
"U wanted to ask me something in the morning"
My heart couldn't beat any faster with excitement. I ask her which year she's in and am shocked to see that's she's a freshman too. My instincts were right I guess, I hesitate for a second incase she's disgusted with my questions but surprisingly she's calm though not warm friendly as always. I can't blame her though. We chat longer than I anticipated and wow she's still friends with Leah Richards. I want to ask her why they both are starting camps after this long but since I can't explain where I have been all this long I only settle for her phone number. After all I will be seeing her more often, we exchange phone numbers and she asks me about Pen. I try to assure her that Penelope is just a friend I met at a party though I can clearly tell that Pen has a thing for me. Well who can resist all this. Sadly our jazz comes to an end when we reach outside. I hug Az as she says goodbye. She doesn't hug me back and I can't blame her. I have just returned back into her life after this long and am trying to claim my place as the boyfriend she had. She probably must have moved on. I also head to practice feeling a little lighter that I at least am on good terms with my girl though I still have tons of questions. I just pray that Azra doesn't resent me after disserting her like that. I need another chance with her. She's is the f in the lie am living. Life is incomplete without her.
