Ray's POV
I came back to pick my belongings for this week and found Sasha on her usual phone calls ".....Its like choosing between a Louis Vuitton bag and a Calvin Klein. Of course I would go with a VL so it's the same case, I rather marry Pedro than Ray. My parents are crazy about him for reasons I can't even understand. Guy is even still studying" she continues bubbling to the other person on the phone. I get everything I need and on my way out I open the fridge and the smell of stale food welcomes me. I close it immediately and leave. "This is horrible, how will can survive with someone who lives on takeouts only" I mutter to myself. Ra had spoilt me with her cookings and cleanliness. with her this place always felt like home . Am sure she can't stand my face at the moment but I need to win her back at all times.
It's been two weeks, have been trying to find her but in vain. Her mum told me never to show my face near their home when I came to apologize on Christmas Eve. Even in the classes we have together she's not always present yet Rachel informed me that she's around. I miss her but not the way I miss my Pikin. I long to hold Christa in my arms. I don't know what I was even thinking to chase them out of my life.
She has a lesson at 10:20am today and I can't get enough of what I see when she approaches. She looks stunning with her new hair. No wonder I hadn't recognized her. she's totally a different person. I have been looking for a hazelnut instead of a black bob.
"Azra, hey" I call out when she's near the entrance of the lecture room. Like I expected she only glared at me and continued her way. She wasn't even surprised to see me. At least she didn't scream insults in my face, Azra is like a Taliban bomb when angry.I need to get her to talk to me so am going to wait till she's out.
"Ra, please stop" I say chasing after her three hours later. "please tell me on the whereabouts of Christa if you want nothing to do with me" I shout and she stops in her tracks and slowly turns. Now the bomb is about to explode .
"Christa" he scoffs. "There's nothing like Christa anymore." she says harshly. Students passing the corridor start staring at us as when she raised her voice.
"Come with me," I hold her hand so I can lead her to somewhere quieter but she frees herself from me with one angry move. "I want nothing to do with you Raymond Fisher. And I don't have your daughter or her whereabouts. If you wished to see her you should have done so before she got adopted. You no longer have a child, not any that I know of. Now if you would excuse me, I have a life to live. And don't you ever lay your filthy hands on me." with those words she exits leaving me dumb folded.
".....before she got adopted" those words continue stinging in my heart and re-echoing in my head. no no there's no way Azra was capable of doing that. I grumble for my phone and make a call.
"Hey Khalil, any information on her?" I ask the person on the other side of the phone.
"Yes, boss she lives on the third floor of Glane apartment, room 16.Eden street but she stays with no one except for a guy who occasionally visits but there's no sign of a child" the person on the other end respond confirming what Ra just said. she indeed gave up our child for adoption, she really gave up on us. I know I brought up all this on us but she needed to be patient with me. Curse all this on poor communication. I should have explained this all to her. Wait, Khalil mentioned that there's a guy that occasionally visits her. who could he be. "Send me pics of the guy always visiting her" I text khalil anger boiling inside of me. I need to talk to Kevin and we immediately execute our plans cause am really tired of this.

When am done with practice, I shower and go to meet Kevin at his restaurant.
"what can I get you man!" he asks
"Nothing really, am in the mood of getting answers than eating" I reply with my grumpy mood. "how far with the plan?"
"Meeting is scheduled for Friday, now all you have to do is to make sure your dad and father in law are present too". Kevin explains.
"I will convince my dad to bring his friend, and now I need to drag Sasha there with me" I respond and leave. I have a lot that needs my attention at the moment.
Azra's POV
Matt has been great company. I met him at the furniture shop when I had just returned from South Carolina .We were both furniture hunting and in attempts to move in, actually we both had eyes on the same couch. it was black velvet with stripped red and white cushions. it was comfy and relaxing to watch Netflix series on. we had both reached for it at the same instant, but he acted as a gentleman and let me have it on condition that I invite him to eat pizza on it some time.
A few days later we met again at the nearby grocery store and realized were actually opposite neighbors. Last week I got to invite him over for pizza and that's how I learnt that he's a gamer. He also made this bubble shooter game that am crazy about in my phone. I reply his text asking about my day and go back to doing my assignment.
Ray really had the nerve. how dare him start asking me about Christa after all this while. I don't know where it came from but I found it befitting and satisfying telling him his daughter is adopted. The reaction on his face was priceless but knowing the kind of person he is, he won't stop till he finds his daughter. This is going to be a tough bumpy road for him so it would be best if he fastened his seat belt. cause when the going gets tough, the tough get going. I won't be easy on him this time. am not trash that he can use and dump anytime he wishes.
