11. Ostrich Brain

It's a Friday once again and am still in a good mood, the endorphins are still flowing in my blood, spending the weekend at home was really rewarding. It's equal to taking a vacation to Niagara Falls in New York or a get away to Bali.
So am scrolling through my Instagram sipping on my signature smoothie made of strawberry chocolate and banana as I wait for Ray who's already five minutes late so we can have that talk. Am looking forward to what he has to say and I hope it cloud clear the bad mood around us, I mean we've been friends for along time he shouldn't have gone without mentioning a word. Poof!! he vanished from the map. Am so mad at him  for leaving me hanging like that, let alone leaving me to face pregnancy alone. my baby missed a father figure and someone to defend me from the insults and criticism I got from the community. I promised myself I would never be in the the same room with such a betrayer but look at me now, he even slept in my room last Friday. Looking back then I realize how love can still out win anger and frustration. Selena Gomez was right, the heart will always want what it wants.
" well well...if it isn't the infamous Azra Falls " says a familiar voice that I can't place from where though. I raise my eyes from my phone to see two girls in front of me. Clara, a mean girl from high school and a Pinkalicious blonde. "well well if it isn't the famous drug addict and her new ass wiper," I sarcastically reply. Her eyes widen in horror and the temperature in the room drops by 10 degrees cause she didn't expect a reply, let alone a perfect come back from me
" I don't have your time nerd", she says regaining her composure "I came here to warn you to give my cousin Pen her peace and let what's hers be hers"
"meaning"
"Leave Ray alone, he's no longer yours" Clara barks.
"Oooooh so Penelope can't come to comfort me but sends her cousin with an ostrich brain to say it to me." I see her looking at my smoothie on the table so I quickly grab it reading her mind. Her fuming with race face suddenly turns into a satisfied smile so I look in the direction she's looking at, only to find Ray and Pen smiling at each other on the entrance of the restaurant. From anyone's view, the two people are the entrance are looking like sweet love birds from the way they are chatting and smiling at each other.  It's my turn to fume with rage. All along I was waiting for him and he's here romancing that blonde. I pick up my bag and bypass him at the door and immediately leave.
As I expected this shameless creature comes running to after me. "Az am really sorry" he says. I look at him once,say nothing and stop the cab that is on the road. On entering the cable also enters from the other side ,he starts to rattle words at an ending speed. Am busy arguing with Ray that I forget I didn't give the cab driver my destination. To add to my horror, the driver is already moving and before I ask him where were heading, two masked men enter the cab and fix in the behind seat with us. They immediately pull out pistols and tell us not to make a sound, my instincts make me grab Ray's hand as am really scared. They order us to lower our heads and ask us to hand over our phones first of all. Having to taken all our valuables,we plead with them not to harm us. The driver replies that as long as we cooperate, nothing will happen to us. They explain to us that they are just robbers who steal and run. As am about to explain that they already have everything we had, Ray hits the guy seated next to him on the neck and he instantly loses consciousness. At a lightning speed Ray grabs the pistol and tells the two robbers to stop their dirty tricks. The driver almost loses control over the vehicle as he's trying to comprehend what's happening behind. My captivator seizes me by neck and promises to shoot me if Ray tries anything stupid. Ray looks between the driver and my captivator. He raises both his hands while twirling the pistol around his finger. "Am not doing anything stupid" he calmly says, I don't know how he did it but I only saw the pistol leaving his hands but now I feel the strong arm that was strangling me let go. The driver in utter shock turns to look behind to see that both his allies are no longer conscious. In trying to find another gun between his legs but Ray is already swift and pointing a gun to his head and orders him to just keep driving. The driver shouts back with insults saying we won't get away with it. I gain my composure soon enough and start searching for our stolen phones from the unconscious guy next to me as Ray is concentrating on the driver. The guy next to Ray is starting to wake up so I scream at a high pitch "Ray watch out",my voice startled the driver and he drives into a car in front of us, directly knocking his head on the steering wheel. Ray knocks his captivator with his elbow this time . Ray opens the door and pushes him out. We immediately get out of the taxi as a crowd starts to gather and witness the accident we caused. As we get out the owner of the accident is also getting out to come shout at the driver for wrecking the car. Without leaving my hand, Ray orders me to call the police as he explains the situation to the man we knocked. When am done informing 911,we all take a clear look at the driver and blood is oozing from his head. Am silently praying the unconscious goons don't wake up so soon. Ray looks at me and pulls me in a hug and tells me am safe. Sirens could be heard from a distance.
