"Hope am not interrupting your reading" Mr Moosby startles me. "Not at all sir" I quickly compose myself and close the geology book I was deeply in. "I can come back later you know" he insists. "That would be a wastage of energy, since your already here how can I help you " I give him a warm smile "besides its not like I got these notes last night"
"OK then, your a mother miss Azra so that's why I have this for you." he pauses and takes a seat nest to mine in the library at the orphanage. "what's troubling you Mr Moosby?" I try to inquire. "Claire is getting adopted and...... " ."That's wonderful news, she's a very sweet and smart girl"i cut him off. "Her parents are very lucky."
"That's where the confusion comes in. Her parents are a single sex couple, both are female" he informs me. "well, what's wrong with that Mr. Moosby? I don't see why she can't be raised by two women " I say to him. "I know am very old and religious and such matters confuse me. I thought a child would need a father and mother figures to nature well." he expresses his worries.
"I understand well but in our generation, children are brought up by single parents or relatives of the same gender in the house and they turn out well. All a child needs is to be raised with love and given all their needs Mr. Moosby. It's far better than being raised with normal parents that are abusive to the child or too busy to pay attention to their needs. We all value our religions and in Christianity we judge not, For it is the Lord to judge us." I explain my opinion to him.
"That you have a point, but how will we know if these women will raise the child well?" he looks perplexed. "how will you know Mr. Moosby if you don't try. Everyone deserves a chance in life Mr. Moosby" I say to him. "Your really too wise for your age" he says getting up from his seat. "Thanks for the compliment Mr. Moosby" I wave him off and go back to knowledge hunting.
"Took Chloe out for lunch" Leah texts me.
"Great baby steps." I text back and go to the last chapter.
Ray finished his papers today early morning so on finishing mine I bypass the grocery store. We shall celebrate tonight, I plan to prepare all our favorite dishes. As we both love chicken it is the first to appear on the menu not forgetting a bottle of Bailey's. This has been one hell of a semester so I don't see why we can't end it in style. Tomorrow we shall go to the water park together with Christa.

Ray's POV
"No am not doing that dad",  I furiously slap the driving wheel on remembering the words my dad told me. How dare he do that. He's my father and I respect and love him but that doesn't mean he has to have me under a remote control like its a must I have to do whatever he wishes me to do. It's really unfair for someone like him. A respected man to be behaving like a child.
A few hours back, my dad called to pass by home today and since I needed to pick up my running kit from home. I didn't find it a bother. On entering home I found my parents chatting with Sasha Elle, another childhood friend of mine or let's put it clear a daughter of one of my father's closest friends Jimmy Elle. So wherever we went, I always found Sasha and we played together. Now it officially  landed in my ears that we were matched before and now they want us married.
"What, but you both know very that am not in position to marry Sasha!" I say looking from my mother to Sasha in between and finally to my dad making sure he sees the daggers shooting from my eyes. "Can I talk to you in private?" dad asks. A few minutes later am driving back to our place with Sasha in the passenger seat. I don't even know how to explain this to Azra.
"Were home?" I announce our arrival. She comes running gracefully to welcome us. She comes screaming Christa but she stops mid way on seeing that it's someone else. "Oooooh it's someone else.....Someone I don't know " she nervously scrambles with words as she cleans her hands on the apron.
Azra's POV
"Azra this is Sasha, Sasha this is Azra" she introduces us with no interest and straight away heads to the bedroom, slamming the door behind him. "please have a seat", I say to her noticing the suitcase behind her. I don't understand what she's doing here with her suitcase but it would be insane to ask her so I storm after Ray in the bedroom.
"What do you mean your marrying her Ray?" I ask him after his stupid clarification. "Because I love her Azra, sorry but it's not you" he replies in a sarcastic tone. "Are you really out of your mind now" I can't seem to understand anything he's saying at the moment. How can men be such part timers and cold blooded . One moment he cares about you and the other ,He wants nothing to do with you.
"I made a huge mistake Azra, loving you was the worst decision. I didn't even do a DNA test to confirm my relation with Christa, I can't be sure she's mine..." he says firmly. I hold up my hand "Enough" I shout at him,  "I will not allow you to insult me like that Ray. I don't know if I was a mistake or not but please don't make me believe that am not good enough for you just because the person you wish to marry is in the living room. Am old enough to understand, if you want me out of this house. Let me know, it's crystal clear that your trying to find something to smear on my name. Please save yourself. I know the way out of here. " I say fighting the tears in my eyes. "I won't cry, he's not worthy of my tears" I keep telling myself as I pack a few belongings of mine.
"Just.....don't ever come trying to find us."
When am done I carry my suitcase out of the bedroom my bag in the other hand. Ray this whole time is on his phone not bothering to look up. "Have a great marriage Raymond Fisher" I say not expecting a reply. "Go have a life you deserve Azra" he replies. His reply acts like a catalyst releasing all the tears I was fighting back. This wasn't the end I expected but maybe it's must be end I deserved. I grab a pic of the three of us and tuck it safely in my bag and walk out ignoring the smell of the chicken burning in the oven.
