32. Under a spell

The impacts of digging are starting to wear off.  Dad and mum were supposed to drop off Christa this evening but since we're going to be at Leah and Austin's house warming party,we decided it's best if she comes tomorrow morning. My body is still sore from the digging and carrying soil. I pray this project is a success.
"Ra baby are u almost done, we're going to be late". Ray calls from the living room.
"Coming" I reply powdering my face for the last time.  I opted for a white sweater dress with a black hoodie. To complete the look, I went for black and white sneakers and a grey purse. Simple look as always.
"You look amazing and dressed perfectly for the cold weather" he comments.
"You don't look bad yourself, I see you decided to steal my colours." I say to him.
"No way, remember I got ready first. So technically the thief is you" he comes closer to me wrapping his arms around my waist. " Your even smell as good as you look." Am trapped between his hands now.
"If am that good looking as you think, then you have to accept my request tonight." I say murdering the urge to ditch the party and endlessly make out with this god in front of me.
"Make your request then princess "
"Am driving tonight"
"Really, are you sure you can manage that beast. It's really fast you know" Ray is really protective of his Mustang. I have heard that none of his friends have ever been behind his wheel.
"You said I could make a request "
"I haven't said no, it's just that.... "
"Alright then, what are waiting for," I free myself from his grip on my waist and grab the car keys.
"You really must have him under a spell" Kevin peeps in the car expecting to find Ray in the drivers seat. I must admit this car is a real beast and he has every reason not to trust anybody near it. Am happy he trusts me this much . "Hi there Kevin, well why don't you come for convincing lessons" I smile at him.  "I really need to," we get out of the car and that's when I notice Jenna standing next to Kevin.
"Hi there Jenna, nice to see you again. You look amazing " I say as Kevin is complaining to Ray about me riding his car. Jenna must love pink more than barbie. She's in a giltering pink sleeveless dress, black and pink heels. Her artificial blonde hair clipped with a pink bow on one side.
"Nice to see you too " her reply comes out less appetizing but am too excited to see my friend to notice it.
"Leah!!" I scream in excitement on seeing her, she excuses some of the guests she's talking to and comes to my embrace. She welcomes us and the gunshot to join others and play pool table. Leah asks me too keep her company which I gladly do as she plays nice hostess. When everyone is here we listen to speeches from the host and hostess then join in the different varieties of foods waiting to be devoured.
Am at the bar sipping on wine as am watching everyone, am having a good time and the party is lovely but I felt I needed  to step aside and be alone for a little while. "I knew there's more to the angelic look you pretend around you." I turn to see Jenna staring at me daggers coming out of her eyes. I barely know her so why would she be pretending to know me better than I know myself.
"Meaning? " I ask her.
"You can't fool everyone around Ms hoodie, who even wears this to a party! Three students have been missing from campus and they were all connected to you. This campus maybe big but don't think that no one will notice "
"So what's your problem Ms.Pink panther, I don't even know what your talking about detective!" Am a nice person but that doesn't mean that I should be stepped on all the time. How dare this bitch come accusing me.
"Penelope and  Clara Steven, then Trevis. Does that ring any bells?"
"So this is what it is all about, " I inwardly ask myself without betraying the serious face on the outside. "I don't have every proof to expose you but when I do, am going to get justice for my boyfriend and make sure you rot in jail." she continues.  The boyfriend part catches more of my attention as I sip more of my wine.
"I wish you success in that pinkalicious"I respond comfortably.
"Hi babe, everything alright" Ray asks as he and Kevin join us on the counter.
"Actually is it OK, if we leave this place early" I ask him trying not to gag on the sight of Jenna trying to act all nice in front of Kevin. So that's why she got closer to Kevin, such that she can get into our inner circle and find out what happened to her boyfriend and the Steven cousins.
"Sure, I don't see why not," Ray replies trying to read my face if all is fine. "We should find Leah and inform her of our departure."
"Bye Kevin and Jenna" we both say and leave the counter without bothering to hear their reply. I find Leah bid her a quick farewell and remind her about tomorrow. I also caution her about Jenna. When she asks why I promise to tell her everything tomorrow. In the elevator I text "Tomorrow you can't bring your girlfriend or tell her about my kidnap" and send. I instantly get an "OK".In the parking lot I hand the keys to ray and he declines.
"You have to complete your ride, unless you have had so much to drink", I smile and get behind the wheel of his beast once again. Ray breaks the silence in the car. "Something is definitely wrong " I nod my head keeping my eyes on the road. "let's get home first, then I will feed you in on every bit" I respond. "Am I in trouble?" he asks me making me smile a bit. "Not at all" I assure him.
"You want anything to drink" , I ask pouring myself a glass of water. "No thanks, I only need to know about what's bothering you." he worriedly responds. I join him on the couch. "Remember when you told me that all our enemies were disposed off well, what did that actually mean. All I know is that everyone actually believes that Pen and Clara transferred schools but can I really know what happened." I pause.
"So this is what it's all about " Ray responds.
"Yaaaa, I didn't actually mean to pry but it's just that Jenna came today accusing me of kidnapping them and the best part is that she was actually dating Trevis,"
"No way"
"Yes way, my conclusion is that she's trying to penetrate into our circle to get the information she wants." I say
"Then we must warm Kevin and Leah to watch out for her. " Ray grabs his phone.  "No need for that, I already did that "  I say to him. "Aren't u smart! " he compliments his fingers joining into mine. "Well , my father and Captain are holding the Steven family hostage till they are able to break their chain of drug distribution and trying to find out all their safe and ware houses for their illegal business. So in left it in their hands. As for Trevis he managed to flee the state but I can assure you we have eyes and ears everywhere looking out for him. So don't you worry about Pinkalicious ,she's having a wild goose chase."
"Thanks for looking out for me, am starting to feel loved" I say looking into his piercing ocean blue eyes.
"You looked lovely tonight " he inches closer and starts caressing my face, our faces almost touching, he hesitated a little waiting for me to object. When I don't oppose his actions, he kisses me, passionately this time. My tongue continues to search his. He bites my lower lip slowly sending shivers throughout every muscle in me. When we break the kiss after what feels like a life time, we grasp our breaths then he asks "are you okay with us completing this from the bedroom" I just nod my head.
