27. Too good to be true

Azra's POV
We've reached at the Stern apartments. They look so beautiful and elegant. The breeze here is amazing. I wonder who were here to see. Ray claims am about to thank him. I walk slowly since this red long pencil skirt won't allow me to walk any faster. Ray notices my slow pace and reduces his strides . Anxiety is slowly killing me,
"Ray who are we meeting here?" I manage to ask
"No one" Ray replies as we enter the elevator. He presses number seven
"Huuuuh, then why are we here?" am now confused.
"You ask a lot of questions Azra, just trust me"
"OK! " I only reply. When we reach the seventh floor, we move to room 112 and he asks me to close my eyes. He inputs codes and I hear the sounds of a door opening. He guides me inside the room and asks me to open my eyes.
"Wow!!" that's all that I manage to say, the room is decorated with white and red balloons, green and silver ribbons. The chairs are well adorned too, a table filled with wines and whiskey and glasses. Am still trying to take in the surroundings of the apartment when my eyes land on a huge banner written on "will you be my girlfriend again Azra Falls?" I cover my mouth with both my hands to hide the shock.
"Azra, growing up with you brought me so much joy, you were always my comforter, my guiding stick to the blind man, the summer sun on a cold winter morning, and shelter on a stormy night, you added f to the lie I was living and it became life. You're my guiding star on a dark night, without am lost and incomplete. Will you please be my girlfriend once more and the mother of all my children." He says one knee on the ground.
This can't be happening, I pinch myself to make sure am not dreaming. Maybe all this is a dream and am still in that dark room. "Ra please say something, your silence is hurting me" his gentle voice brings me back reality. "Yes" I say but it comes out like a whisper so I repeat myself "Yes I will be your girlfriend again..... but". My buts are deafened by the celebrants in the room. "Hurray she said yes" I hear voices say and people come out excited . Shock almost killed me. Everyone i I know is here, even Leah who lied to me that she's sleeping . Ray looks at me smiling and kisses me passionately. When he releases my lips, he stands besides me and starts introducing me to his friends, some I know, others I don't. Everyone is congratulating us. Am so happy to have him back. He hands me a drink and pulls for me a chair.
"Ok, now I need to answer your questions, but first thank you for making me happy, I feel more loved than ever today." Ray is all smiles.
"First of all what's this place?" I ask him.
"This is going to be our new home from today onwards"
"Our home!!" I say taking in the contents of my the place, everything is a luxury in here. I personally can't afford it. "No Ray you need to stop joking, we can't afford everything in here let alone the place itself " I say to him in a whisper careful not to shout over the soft Ballards playing in the background. Our guests are having drinks and helping themselves to the snacks.
"Am sorry if we can't afford everything dear but I have already bought this place for us. I need you to move in with me." Ray says holding both my hands.
"Why and when?" I ask him.
"When, the day you came from the hospital, arrangements were done yesterday. When I left your place. Why, cause I love you so much Ra, I want you near me where am able to protect you properly. If you don't wish to move in with me at least live here where I know your safety is guaranteed. Me I will still stay at the frat house. What do you say?" he replies.
"I need to think about it Ray." I say to Ray.
"Take all the time you need, but Leah was telling she got engaged so I don't want you staying alone. With time we can have Christa here and live as a complete family. That's all I want." Ray says.
