❖ The soft beeping of an alarm sounds in my right ear. I stir, half asleep in my drowsy state. I groan, forcing my eyelids to flutter open and a frown to dress my face. An exhausted sigh escapes my lips, while I struggle to prepare myself for the day ahead.

❖ I decide the first action I should take is getting out of bed. It's a Saturday, being my first thought. Thanks to my saving grace of a work schedule I don't have anything to do today. I must have forgotten to turn off my alarm. No matter, cannot waste time on dwelling on something as simple as an alarm.

❖ Once I finally do decide to get out of bed, I reach my feet for the cold hardwood flooring of mg bedroom. I plant my feet, wobbling a fit before catching myself. Shivers trail up my spine because of the cold surface, so I hastily search for my slippers. Once spotted, I scurried toward the (f/c) fluffed shoes, and slide them on.

❖ I stretched my arms high in the air, attempting to wake my body up while I walk to my bedroom door. All of my drowsiness and easiest slipped away when I heard heavy footsteps from outside the door. My hand stopped right on the handle, and I froze from fear. I live alone. I didn't invite a friend over, especially not this early in the morning. No one spent the night from my memory. I deduce it's an intruder.

❖ Instead of being ethical and smart my brain started to spiral. Where could I hide? Should I even hide? Who is intruding in my home? Why are they intruding? Should I call the police? Are their intentions malicious or passive? The noise of a low and raspy voice humming a noise of disdain brought me to my senses, frightening me more.

❖ In my scared shitless state, I hurried to my bed, trying to be as quiet as humanly possible. Once I arrived I threw myself underneath the wooden frame, praying that I was safe. I felt like I should be expressing some sort of emotion because of this situation, but the amount of fear suppressed any that started to bubble. What a way to start the morning.

❖ Soon after I had hidden, the door creaked open, seemingly louder than usual. The intruder hadn't entered the room just yet, since I couldn't see their feet. They must have been analyzing the room. Smarter than I thought, and worse off for me if they had bad intentions.

❖ After a while of waiting for the person to enter the room I got a little to curious. I began to move around and check my surroundings a bit more from the bed. On my left side, the room appeared normal, as if no one other than I was in the room. However, when I got to my right side, I froze once again.

❖ Instead of seeing a pair of shoes or something, there was a bright light. It illuminated he entirety of the underside of my bed, and was eerie as hell.

❖ The light was a circle, but it's border was thick. The color was an over saturated cyan color, which was super pretty the longer I looked at it. As I eventually drifted my gaze from the light, I could see other facial features, or the lack of. Their face looked like a skull, but cartoonized. A wide grin spread across their face, sending chills down my spine.
