Chapter 14 - Party Participants

Nightmare hand raised his head slowly at the noise. Me and Error jumped at the sudden loudness that filled the room. Nightmare was annoyed, while I was confused and in shock. Error simply sighed, though it wasn't bearable through the loud voices coming from the TV.

"Either turn that off, or turn it down." Nightmare furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes at Dust. Dust had a wide grin on his place, and anyone would expect him to say 'No'. But he didn't.

"Alright fine boss." Dust turned around and you saw his grin widen. He reached for the remote again, and then crushed it. Nightmare's expression showed pure anger, while mine was full of shock. I wasn't expecting that.

Nightmare stood up from where he was sitting, and his tendrils were thrashing behind him wildly. I stood up too, but because I was going to run out of the room. Before I could take a single step, Nightmare had a tentacle wrapped around me in an instant.

"You're staying here. You'll see just how much mercy I have for even my gang." I tried to struggled and get out of his grip, even though I knew my efforts would be useless. I eventually let myself go limp, and Nightmare's grin widened. He enjoyed it when people submitted to him.

I sighed in response and waited for his next move. He let his three free tentacles shoot out at Dust and in the process knocking over a bunch of items. The tentacle that had be in it's grasp was brought to his side. The tendril let me go and then I stood in front of Nightmare, so I wouldn't get hit. Nightmare then grabbed the back of my shirt, so I couldn't get away. He then sent his last tendril out after Dust.

Dust was struggling to get away from the masses of negativity trying to wrap around him. Killer and Horror had jumped in just for fun, while Error stayed off to the side, trying to scoot to the side of the room Nightmare was on so he wouldn't get hit. It wasn't hard to see what was happening through the black masses though. The living room had been trashed, and there were even black splotches around the room. I mentally sighed and just had to wait until the fight was over.

I kept trying to turn to face Nightmare to stop, but every time I moved, he pulled on the back of my shirt, choking me. I eventually gave up. I look down at my feet, which still had their black socks on. I bounced my leg for a little before getting bored of that. I groaned and Nightmare heard me. His attacks slowed a bit after a little while, and Dust, Horror and Killer were able to flee the scene, running into the kitchen.

Nightmare still wanted to be able to catch the three, so he picked me up in his arms. He didn't seem to care if I was startled or not, he just wanted to catch the annoying trio. I froze up when he did pick me up. He ran through the house, into the kitchen, and then started letting his tendrils flail around at the three.

The three were now laughing while dodging. One of them would occasionally almost fall, resulting in a bigger laughing fit. The three were eventually backed into a door that led out to the back of the home. The three escaped through this. Nightmare followed them, while I was still in his arms. I just hoped he didn't drop me, since he was only focusing on the three currently.

I didn't have a backyard, so It was more of a small area and then the woods. I never dared go into the woods considering there was always odd noises coming from them. Plus, I never had a reason to enter them. Dust, Killer, and Horror took a second to look at the woods. These few seconds allowed Nightmare to snatch the three up in his tendrils. They all stared at each other for a few seconds and started to laugh again.

"Hey boss! Whatcha got there?" Killer shouted and Nightmare looked down at me. I saw a faint teal cover his face, and then he dropped me. My back hit the ground first, resulting in me coughing a few times. I stayed laying on the ground with my eyes opened. 'What just happened?' was my only question.
