When I awoke, I was laying alone. I sat up in my bed and closed my eyes again, to rest. I opened my eyes again after a couple minutes of sitting. When I opened my eyes Lane was in front of me. He spun around in a circle then sat down. Lane meowed quite loudly for being only a kitten, and you smiled at his efforts to gain your full attention.

"Yeah yeah. I hear you Lane." I brought the covers off of my self and swung my legs off of the bed. My feet hit the cold wooden floor. I set my hands out for Lane to walk over to so I could pick him up. Lane's paws pressed into the bed sheets as his small body made it's way closer to my hands.

I picked Lane up, and carried him back over to where the others were. They were all only just now waking up. I set Lane down in the dog bed. Lane, Rain, and Splotch all meowed at up at me. I gave a simple giggle and went to my closet. It was a Friday, and today was my last work day of this week.

I opened my closet and grabbed the normal uniform, white collared shirt, and black pants. I changed and made my way over to the end of my bed to grab my bag. Everything was still inside, except for my pen. This was replaceable.

I swung the bag over one of my shoulders and walked to the door. Rain, Splotch, and Lane were still meowing loudly behind me as I opened the door. I stepped into the hallway, and made my way down the stairs. Once I reached the bottom, I glanced around to see if Nightmare was anywhere in sight. He wasn't anywhere to be seen.

I sighed and began to walk to my front door. I didn't own a car, so I would have to walk to the cafe. I opened my door and saw it was raining outside.

"This is just great." I whispered to myself and grabbed an umbrella from a holder to my right. I stepped out of my home and opened the umbrella. I was only a little wet by this point. I continued off onto the sidewalk, and started walking to the café.

On the way, a few Seniors waved at me, and wished me a good day at work. I waved back and wished them a good day too. I continued my walk and only got to the end of the street before someone was behind me. I whipped around and swung my hand up, to where the person's face would have been.

SMACK

I hit someone square in the face. It was Nightmare. I started to panic as he took a step back as he pinched the brow of his nose. He opened his one eye socket and glared at me. While he was angry, surely he would understand why I hit him right? Nope. He shot a tendril out and it wrapped around me. He then teleported us to the café, so no one saw what he was about to do.

He tightened his grip around me. I whimpered a bit in response. His frown turned into a smaller sadistic grin. "Let me go! I only h-hit you because I thought you were some c-creepy stalker!" I was only able to get out a few words. Nightmare didn't seem to like the fact that I spoke out.

Hit grip tightened more and I could have sworn he broke one of my arms. Thankfully, he didn't. Nightmare loosened his grip, just enough for me to wiggle out of his hold. I fell onto the ground and looked up at him. His face was relaxed now, and he now knew exactly why you hit him.

"I thought you hit me just because I scared you or because it would catch me off guard." Nightmare shrugged as he spoke. At least you knew his side of the problem now.

"Sorry." You stood up and looked at him. "Apology accepted." He spoke with a sadistic grin. You frowned in response.

"Now can I do my job without you trying to kill me?" I crossed my arms as he simply looked away from me to his regular booth. "I'll think about it." I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not.
