Walking aimlessly around the castle for a bit, specifically looking for the library. Being there would relax me. Every time I stepped through the hallway a small tap would echo throughout the halls. The sound sent shivers up my spine as I continued through the hallways.
I reached a door with a golden book placed over the doors. The pushed through their hard surfaces and gazed into the library. Dark wooden bookcases were placed all around the walls and in every place they could be. I stepped through the doors and they shut behind me, surprisingly quietly.
I continued to walk over to the sitting area. The carpet that led me to the area was a blood red, with golden highlights. The rug looked brand new, and there wasn't a single speck of dust on it form what I could see. Nightmare seemed to care a lot about the library out of all places.
Once I reached the sitting area, I immediately took a seat. The chair was soft and its royal purple color brought warmness. I let myself relax into the chair as I slowly turned my head around the room to look at the rest of the scenery.
On the first floor were most of the book shelves. More of the same blood red rugs were placed in between each bookcase. The cases reached almost to the ceiling. The library was tall.
The second floor wasn't much of a second floor. There were cases lining the sides of the entire wall. A spiral staircase made its way from the first to the second floor. A skylight was placed in the middle of the rooms ceiling. It was gigantic. It was currently showing the nighttime sky above the castle.
I mouthed a small 'woah' to the scenery above. It was absolutely beautiful. There was probably some way to get on top of the roof to see the stars better, and feel the cooling wind. I'd have to ask Nightmare if he wanted to star gaze sometime.
I quickly snapped my head back to the library doors as I heard them open with a creek. I then heard a low and annoyed sigh from someone as they entered the room. Their footsteps were slow, and they seemed to want to just relax at the moment. They probably came here for some peace and quiet.
I grabbed the first book that was next to me, and I started reading it, acting as if that's what I had been doing for the past 30 minutes. I glanced up from the book once to see who was entering the area. It was Nightmare.
He had a bit of a surprised but more positive look on his face now that he saw I was in the room. He scurried over to the sofa chair next to me. I shivered for a second at the new aura. Nightmare didn't seem to notice, and if he did he didn't seem to care. It must have been normal for him. Poor guy.
I shook off the thought as I looked over to Nightmare, acting as if I had only just seen him.
"Oh hi there. Didn't realize you were there." I placed the book paper down and placed my hands in my lap. Nightmare grabbed the book I was previously reading and examined it with an annoyed look.
"What's so special about this book? I've read it at least 5 times. I don't find an interest in it." I felt a small surprised expression grow on my face. Nightmare glanced up from the book to over at me.
"W-Well. I guess I'm just a sucker for the horror genre?" A nervous smile made its way onto my face. I could see Nightmare's face relax with my answer. He seemed satisfied with my response.
"Interesting. I'm more into the fantasy and romance genres.." His response surprised me a bit. Romance? Out of all people Nightmare was into romance? While it would make sense because he was a negative being, and he may not have been able to feel such emotions, he's definitely felt positive emotions with me right?
