❖        "Please refrain from creating disturbances in the-" I peaked my head around the corner, reciting a standard protocol when anyone was making a fuss in the shop. However, I had been cut short. My words stopped in my throat, frightened by the sight before me.

❖        Nightmare stood next to the table Rune and his friends had sat at. The usual cocky and sadistic grin that adorned his face was a twisted and jagged shape, and his eyelight had shrunk. His tendrils had jutted out from his back and pointed at the three boys, their ends coming to sharp points. A few of the tendrils had a crimson liquid stuck to them.

❖        Out of fear for the lives of the boys, I rushed over to get a closer look. Rune had a major leg injury; a stab wound through the center of his thigh. The other two boys had a few cuts across the surface of their arms, but nothing as major. Sensing my negativity, Nightmare turned to me. His hostile expression morphed to one of satisfaction, enjoying my reaction.

❖        "What the hell happened!?" I snapped, confusion and anger spilling through my words.

❖        "I do not take lightly to rude remarks. This is merely the outcome of wanting to see how much negativity I can draw from you." He fearlessly stated. The nerve this skeleton had. Narcissistic, sadistic, and an all around asshole. However, a single conversation with this guy could tell you that.

❖        "That doesn't justify anything that I'm seeing right now. Why would a little experiment require you to hurt someone that was never apart of this in the first place?" I questioned, furious with his actions.

❖        "Let me use an example," He started, the ends of the tendrils beginning to round back out again, and turning their focus towards me. "If we look at a king, his entire kingdom is like a 'play-place' for him. He oversees everything that occurs there. He can control the entire area. In this instance, I am the king, and this shop is like my kingdom. Why? Because I have power. No one would, nor could they stop me if they tried. At least not a regular human like yourself." Nightmare finishes, his eye socket squinting at me with disdain.

❖        I scowled, glaring down at him. His cocky smirk came back, me realizing that because I was angry I was just feeding into what he wanted. I scoffed, and began to walk away and into the kitchen to grab a medical kit for Rune and his friends.

❖        In no less than a minute had I grabbed the medical kit and been back into the main room. Nightmare had left the table, and sat back down at his own, book in hand and eye light fixated on it. Choosing to ignore him, I placed the kit on the table, the three boys still frightened at what previously happened. I had appeared too late to know just what Nightmare had said to them, but I probably didn't want to know.

❖        I handed the kit to Rune's friends, and told them to call an ambulance immediately. After they had called an ambulance I began to clean up the shop to close it for the day. I was not going to have Nightmare be a liability to the shop's reputation, nor was I going to work with whatever the hell just happened. I'm sure my boss would understand.
