It's almost seven thirty on a Friday afternoon when I make my way to the dining hall.I grab dinner and sit down all by myself. Olivia and Grace are in town but I stayed behind because I wanted to study more.
I didn't study more.
As I am eating, I take out my phone and I text to Dylan who left for New York for the weekend. He is visiting his cousin who is studying at Columbia.
I miss New York so much.
I need to visit next weekend.
ME: Have you arrived? How is my favourite city?
LONDON BOY🥵: Yes, half an hour ago. It's amazing as always.
ME: Thought so. Have fun, we'll talk tomorrow.
LONDON BOY🥵: Good night, blondie.
Five minutes later as I am still eating, I notice Chase entering the room. The dining is almost empty, so he immediately notices me. He obviously ignores me and sits to another table with two girls.
The one is blonde and the other one brunette. I can see their backs only, so I can't tell if I know them, probably not.
I can tell that he is bored, though, because they can't stop talking to him while he just nods every once in a while. The asshole probably just wants to get into their pants.
As I am staring at them, even though I shouldn't, I feel a tap on my shoulder.
"Hey, Audrey." Max greets me smiling.
Max Evans.
We actually met a couple days ago, he is Ben's friend. Ben Anderson is a friend of mine. We shared some classes and we used to hang out last year. Dylan knows Max and Ben too.
So, the other day we had lunch together and Max came to say hi to Ben and Dylan, and they introduced us. We started talking and he joined us eventually.
He is a sophomore too, he wants to be a lawyer and he comes from San Francisco. And most importantly, he is very attractive. Light brown hair, dark blue eyes and straight white teeth that make his pretty smile even more appealing. And as a player of the Bulldogs, he has an athletic figure.
"Hi, Max, how are you?" I smile.
"Why are you eating alone? Want some company?"
"That would be great." I respond and he immediately joins me.
We start talking and I explain him why I was eating alone and then I start rambling about Olivia and Grace and how great they are.
The whole time we are chatting my attention isn't only on him, though. And that's because a certain someone is already staring at us.
Devil's spawn. Annoying bastard. Manslut. Miller.
I bet that he is doing it on purpose in order to send me all his negative vibes and ruin my time.
Whatever, though, I shouldn't care. I don't care.
Me and Max spend almost an hour talking before we decide to leave. Miller is still here with the brunette girl's lips attached to his neck.
Max walks with me until we are outside of my dorm and, then, he leaves.
I like him, he is a good guy.
He also asked for my number and I gave it to him. He looked interested, so I will not be surprised if he decides to call me. I don't know if I like him like that, though. Also, I am not in the mood for dating. I haven't actually been in a relationship since senior year of high school.
