Sometimes I wonder how we are so successful.

How my father is able to handle all this madness that comes with working with so many people? If I was in charge, I would have blown everything up.

Daily News offices are frustrating. The meetings are even worse. From the moment I entered the room today, everything is a madness. People run through the room, others yell at each other, Jeremy hits his head on the wall, literally.

I type the last words on the computer before I send my article and I get up from my desk. The meeting is going to start soon, once Jeremy is done with the current mental breakdown he is going through. He is extremely stressed about the next issue because we faced some difficulties. We overcame them, though, Jeremy is just being dramatic at this point. But again, he wouldn't be Jeremy if he had stayed cool.

The meeting finally started, but the atmosphere is full of electricity. I want to get out of here.

"No, I won't take an interview from him, he is an ass." Sophie keeps refusing to take an interview from professor Thompson. According to her and some other girls, he is rude, incredibly mean, insults everyone and last and most important, he is a perv. He throws himself at girls. He never crossed a serious line, though, that's why no one can touch him.

"Sophie, it isn't a question, it's a request." A very stressed Jeremy says, gritting his teeth.

"I won't do it. I don't care what you say, if it has consequences, I will accept them." She shrugs, leaning back at her chair.

"I will deal with you later. Rosie, you are doing this." He points at poor Rosie who her eyes widen in pure terror.

"Jeremy, I always listen to you, but this time, no. Ask another one." She says dead serious. Jeremy sighs running a hand down his face shaking his head. Before his eyes properly land on Sarah, she immediately says no, shaking her head multiple times.

"Why it has to be a girl?" I ask him because it's obvious that no girl will say yes.

"Because, Audrey, the last time I sent a guy to interview him, they started a fight. Thompson insulted him or whatever and the things ended terribly. We never got the article." He shakes his head.

"So, you are cool with sending a girl when we all know the way he is going to treat her but you won't send a guy in case he picks up fight? Well, just so you know it, a girl could too. Nice mindset you have, Jeremy. Oh, and I guess that we will never know because I won't let none of the girls go. We aren't getting this article this year too, I guess. " I say dead serious and I hear some of the girls exhaling relieved. They know that my word is important and Jeremy won't go against me when I am being that serious. He is afraid of my father.

Jeremy narrows his eyes at me "I didn't mean th-"

"Audrey should do it." Someone interrupts him and all eyes fall on Derek, and then on me. Jeremy motions him to continue and he does. "Come on, she can handle him with that attitude she has, and if he attempts to do something to her it's no big deal, we all know she can fight." He says and my eyes widen. Just because I can protect myself it's fine if someone tries to hurt me, that's what he just said. Chase, who happens to sit next to him, immediately tenses, clenching his fist on the table.

"And if she can't, she says her daddy's name and he will probably step back. Who wouldn't step back hearing she is Hayden's daughter? No big deal, she goes." He seems satisfied with himself like he said the smartest idea. I blink a few times balling my fists, I am about to explode.

"What the fuck did you just say?" Chase speaks first locking eyes with a not so comfortable now Derek. "Just because she can protect herself it means that's fine if he insults her or lays a hand on her?" He looks very damn angry and I am very damn turned on.
