"You have to get up, sunshine." I am trying to get Chase out of bed for the last ten minutes. He refuses to get up and get ready. I already called Nate to wake him up and tell him to cancel whatever plans he has because I am in New York and I am picking him up for a coffee date. He never denies coffee dates with me. I didn't mention Chase, though, that's a surprise. If it's gonna be a good one, only Nate knows."Five more minutes." He tells me that for the third time this morning.
"Not even five more seconds. Spending the morning with Nate was your idea, so, get your ass up and go get dressed because I hate being late."
He starts chuckling pointing at me and I fight the urge to throw a pillow at his head "Why are you laughing, idiot?"
"Since when do you hate being late? Everyone knows that you never show up on time. I am the one who hates being late, angel." He shakes his head, still amused and he finally gets out of bed.
Holy mother of God, I forgot that he was naked.
"Stop staring, Hayden." He says confidently, as he keeps walking to the bathroom without even looking at me. He probably has eyes on his back too.
Well, exposed.
"I wasn't, don't flatter yourself, Miller." I yell the moment he closes the bathroom door behind him "I will be at the kitchen." I add.
Thank God, that no one is here because I am only on a pair of his Calvin Klein black boxers and a black T-shirt of his. I wore them in order to go to the bathroom earlier. I will change into my clothes later. I was right, Chase brought that casual black dress that I had in his dorm and a pair of black leather boots that I forgot there on Friday.
As I am heading downstairs and towards the kitchen, I notice how sore I feel from last night. I curse under my breath before I make my way to make some coffee before we go out and drink coffee. Because that's what I do, coffee after coffee.
When my coffee is ready and I drink the first sip of the mug, I hear the penthouse's door bursting open and my eyes widen when I see Liam getting inside in a hurry, while he is talking with someone on the phone.
Holy fucking shit. There is no escape.
"Yes, dad. Yes, I am here, I will go find it. Yeah, no worr- Oh-" He freezes on the spot when his eyes land on me, standing shocked behind the counter with my eyes still widened.
I am too embarrassed to move or even open my mouth and say something. Liam talks first "Well, dad, I will call you later. Bye." He ends the call in a hurry and he looks surprised and taken aback too "Hi?" He gives me an awkward smile and the only thing I am able to do is wave at him awkwardly. My lips curve into the tiniest smile before I finally find the ability to speak "Umm good morning?" I start looking around the place, avoiding eye contact.
"Audrey, right?" He speaks again, he doesn't seem awkward anymore "How are you?" I catch a glimpse of him smiling and that makes me somehow relax.
"Oh God, that's embarrassing." I leave a breathless laugh and he chuckles.
"No, no. Everything is fine. Don't feel that way." He rushes to reassure me and I force another awkward smile. Nothing is fine, I am standing in front of Chase's hot uncle, half naked, in their own house, drinking their coffee, all alone.
"Oh shit. What are you doing here?" Chase's voice captures my attention. He is standing next to Liam now, all dressed and handsome with his eyes slightly widened.
"I came to pick up some files Charlie wants. I didn't know you would be here." He gives me a quick look amused "And with the girlfriend." before he turns his attention to Chase again.
