I fucked up.In that exact moment they captured, me and Nico were walking out of the hotel together. He was whispering something at me, I was smiling and his hand was practically on my ass. It must be the angle of the photo or it actually happened for a splitting second accidentally.
Oh God, this seems so wrong.
"Fucking explain yourself, Hayden." He grits out with anger written all over his face.
"I- it-it's nothing." I shake my head repeatedly, taking a few steps back "It was nothing."
I am at loss of words. I never shut up and this is the time that I can't form a proper sentence and defend myself.
"Did you cheat on me?! Did you fuck him? You fucked him. That's why you got out of the hotel together." He walks closer to me and the look in his eyes causes me so much discomfort.
I take a step back.
I can't believe that he thinks that I could ever cheat on him "What?! Are you serious?! You think I cheated on you?!" I finally found my voice "Nothing happened!"
"And you think I believe you?" He practically yells.
"Well, you should!" I snap "I have never given you a reason to doubt me. Nothing happened with Nico, we met randomly at the hotel and sat to drink some coffee together for like half an hour. I haven't seen him since we broke up. And that was two years ago!"
I am telling the truth. I would never do something like that to him.
"And why didn't you tell me, then?" I am about to answer but he interrupts me again "I will tell you why, because you are full of shit and you are lying to my face. You met at a hotel behind my back, you fucked him and you came back to me like nothing happened! Go to hell, Hayden." Is all he says and he walks past me, his shoulder hitting mine in the process, but I grab his hand stopping him.
"Where the fuck are you going?"
"Don't touch me." He frees his arm abruptly.
"Cha-"
"I am leaving, I can't even be in the same room with you right now." He looks me up and down disgusted before he drags his gaze away.
"Are you crazy? I am not lying, I didn't do anything. I would never cheat on you. You know how much I love you." My eyes plead him to listen to me "Listen to me, Chase, we both had meetings there, I run into him randomly on my way out and he offered to buy me a coffee and catch up a little. I hadn't seen him in two, TWO, years, I am not lying."
I could cry right now.
"Then why did you keep it a secret? I didn't even know that you had a meeting, you were supposed to be home that day." The look he is giving me can shatter my heart into pieces. He feels betrayed by me.
"I should have told you, I am sorry, I am sorry, but I didn't think it was something worth mentioning. And as for the meeting I just forgot."
He smiles at himself, shaking his head "I almost forgot how easily you can make up lies."
"I am not lying!" I wrap my hand around his bicep again.
"Yes, you do! Too many coincidences all of a sudden, a meeting you forgot to tell me, you met him randomly, not worth mentioning...you walked out together, hugging, laughing, with his hand on your ass! You are such a hypocrite, Audrey." He frees his arm from my hold.
"You are unbelievable!" I throw my hands in the air "I am trying to explain myself and you just don't wanna listen, you rushed to make your assumptions and your own story in your head and find me guilty when I did nothing." I can't understand him anymore, he is just being paranoid.
