Jordan POV

"It won't work" Lia shook her head, unable to turn on the mini light switches we had set up. "What do we do?"

We've been working on our project for the past forty-five minutes, putting together the interior of the restaurant. It wasn't that hard, really. Just a few wires that needed to be placed correctly.

"Well, you are the one that suggested it" I shrugged taking a sip of my coke. But I new exactly what to do. What's good about helping people out if you can't have a little fun first?

"You have to know something" she pleaded.

"Maybe we'll just forget about the idea? It was kind of stretching it a bit don't you think?" In all honesty, it was a bit extra.

I mean, who would've thought to input actual lights for a school project?I don't even think people who build these things for a living do that.

"That's kind of the whole point JJ" she said in a monotone. Clearly becoming frustrated with my comments.

"Could you at least try?" she made a bit of a pout. She got me now, how could I say no to a pouty face?

That's how Aaliyah has gotten anything she's wanted for all these years.

"Let me see" I said as she moved aside so I could have better access.

It took about two seconds to figure out the problem. She connected the wrong wires, all because she refused to take a second look at the instructions; claiming that she "knew what she was doing".

"Okay" I nodded.

"You're done? Are you sure?" she seemed doubtful that fixed the problem so quickly.

"Try it"

She flicked on the switches and they immediately brightened up the miniature building. Even I had to say that it was a pretty good idea.

"Wow! It looks great!"

"Thanks to me. High five!" I joked.

Though, she actually high fived me. Except it was a high five to the head.

"Ow" I rubbed on the side where I had just been smacked.

I looked up at her and noticed that her smile had faded and her eyebrows were narrowed at me.

"You knew what to do the whole time didn't you?" she looked at me accusingly.

I gave a sheepish grin, but didn't say anything.

"You let me struggle with it for almost twenty minutes!"

"I'm sorry?" I said, trying to muffle up my laughter. Wouldn't want another smack to the head.

I couldn't hold it anymore. I broke into a fit of laughter remembering how confused she looked as she struggled to get the lights to work. While I sat in the background sipping on coca cola with my feet up on my desk.
