Jordan POV
I woke up to the buzzing of my alarm clock. I groaned, hitting the snooze button.
Just five more minutes I thought, shutting my eyes once again. Then I remembered that today is Saturday. I must've forgot to turn off the alarm last night.
I fidget around trying to fall asleep again. There's no use since I'm up now.
Great.
As I lay there, my mind wonders off elsewhere. Particularly, what happened last night. I was surprised at myself for being so open and comfortable to the idea of dancing with Lia. Even more surprised that I asked her.
I've definitely noticed a change in myself since this whole project thing started. And it's a good kind of change so I have to remind myself to thank her.
"Why are you so happy JJ?" Liyah creeped her head into my room. I didn't even notice the smile that had made it's way onto my face.
"Just happy that we get to spend the day together" I patted the spot next to me so she could sit.
She was unusually quiet this morning. Glancing over to her I noticed that she had on a slight thinking face. What could a six year possibly be thinking about to have a face like that?
"Hey Liyah, whatcha thinking about?"
"Can we go see Dahlia today please?" she gave me pleading eyes.
I was taken aback by her sudden question, that's for sure. "Um I'm pretty sure she has things to do today Liyah"
"Please. I like Dahlia, don't you like her too?" she pouted.
If only you knew, I thought. Don't ask what I ment by that because honestly, I don't know.
"Of course I do she's my friend, but I thought this was suppose to be our day together" I tried flipping the script.
"We have these days all the time. Mommy is like never home" She's too smart for me.
"Okay fine, but only for an hour" I warned.
"How about three?"
"Two, no more"
"Okay" she smiled and gave me kiss on the cheek before getting ready. I could've fought her more on going to see Lia, but I kind of wanted to see myself. Not that I would ever admit that.
After feeding Liyah breakfast and getting her dressed, we headed to Lia's house. I just hope that she doesn't mind us coming on such short notice. Well more like without any notice at all.
Once we pulled up the drive way Liyah literally ran out the car. She only met Dahlia one time and she already loves her.
"C'mon JJ!" she waved me over.
I took a deep breath slowly knocking on the door, why am I nervous?
A smile spread on my face when Dahlia cracked the door open.
Liyah waisted no time squeeze the mess out of her. I stood there awkwardly not wanting to interrupt.
"Did you come here to see me?" Dahlia asked her surprised. Liyah nodded her head "We missed you".
"We?" Dahlia repeated glancing over at me. I chuckled nervously scratching the back of my head. Thanks a lot Liyah.
"Well come in" she moved to the side so we could get through.
"Mommy who's that?" a little girl around the age of Liyah holding a barbie doll walked up to us.
I raised my eyebrows at her. Did she just say mommy?
