I hear my phone vibrate beside me on my nightstand. I pause the TV, where I'm halfway through an episode of 'My Name.'
I pick up my phone and see a text notification from the man who recently wanted to end our relationship.
Ian: Can we meet up to talk?
Ian and I had dinner a couple nights ago. That's when he told me he felt like we needed to break up. It took me completely off guard because I thought he was happy being with me. I mean, we have our issues, but what relationship doesn't?!
Cassie: I'm pretty busy all weekend. Honestly, I don't want to see you. You want to break up, so let's not see each other.
Ian: Please Cassie
I ignore that text. I'm already feeling down and further communicating with him right now will only make me more upset.
Instead, I decide to look at my different social media accounts. First, I look through Twitter, then I eventually scroll through Instagram.
I see my friend, Tara, had posted pics of her and her boyfriend at Disneyland. Looks like a fun time. Must be nice to have a boyfriend who looks lovingly at you the way Tara's boyfriend is looking at her in one of the pictures she shared.
I can't handle seeing happy couples right now.
I scroll through, seeing pictures from other friends as well as celebrity posts and then I come across Jeongguk's picture that he just shared a few minutes ago.

Jeongguk and I met up early today, at noon, to have lunch at one of our favorite diners. He knew I was feeling hurt after Ian broke up with me, so he suggested taking me out in hopes that he could cheer me up. We both love food so he knows that if he gets me food, it would put a smile on my face. Plus, he received his tattoo license so we had to celebrate that milestone!
