23. Truth

Yoongi's 1st Person POV

It's 9:30, on a Friday night, and I just made it to Cassie's place.

She's having a gathering of friends for her roommate's birthday. Penelope's birthday isn't until Sunday, but her and the guy she is seeing are leaving tomorrow morning for a four day getaway in Oregon. So, they decided to have a little celebration tonight.

Cassie asked if I wanted to spend the night and I told her I could. I had packed some extra clothes and necessities in a small duffel bag and left it in the trunk of my car all day so I wouldn't have to drop by my house after I left the shop.

When I left the tattoo shop, Namjoon and Irene were both still there, each with a client, so I didn't have to be the one to close up tonight. Jeongguk left a couple hours earlier since he helped open the shop with Dami and Hoseok this morning. Before he left, he said he would see me at Cassie's since he was planning on being there. I'm content about him being there.

Has my attraction for Jeongguk completely gone away? Not really. I can't help that my eyes still find him alluring. Though, I've accepted the fact that there is no possibility of me being involved with him.

But, the man is just so hard to resist admiring. So, I do still low-key check him out around the shop, and that's all I'll allow myself to do.

Then, there's Cassie.

Cassie and I have been spending more of our free time together and I've honestly never connected with someone this strongly since my ex, Chaelin. I normally like spending my free time alone lately, but it's changed since I met Cassie.

I get out of my car, that's parked across the street, grab my duffel bag from the trunk, and then I walk over to the direction of her condominium.

Once I get to the door, I ring the doorbell, and after a half a minute, the door opens up.

"Oh, hey Yoongi!" Jimin greets me from inside Cassie's home. He steps aside and I walk into the place.

"Didn't think I'd see you here," Jimin says as he closes the door behind him. We both remain standing by Cassie's front door.

"Cassie actually invited me," I simply tell the man I used to know back when we were in college.

"You have a duffel bag?" He questions as he eyes the bag I'm holding with my right hand. I guess it's not common to bring a duffel bag to a party or gathering, unless one plans to stay, which I am, but it's none of Jimin's business.

Before I could say anything, I hear my name.

"Yoongi!" Cassie yells as she heads towards me and Jimin.

"Hey, Cass," I greet her as she places herself next to me.

"Jimin, will you excuse us," Cassie tells Jimin as she hooks her arm with mine and we walk through the living room. There are plenty of people scattered about drinking and conversing with one another.

As we are heading towards the stairs, we walk by Jeongguk who is talking to Jin and some woman I don't recognize. Jeongguk and I make eye contact and nod at each other. I had to peel my eyes away from him since Cassie was dragging me along with her to head up the stairs. Once we are at the top floor of her condo, she takes me into her room.
