Jeongguk's 1st Person POV
"So, when is Cassie getting here?" Hoseok asks me while he's working on a Dragonite tattoo on a client while I sweep an area of the shop near him. Hoseok has met Cassie a couple times when we all decided to meet up at bars in the past. Hoseok and Irene, another tattoo artist, are the only people Cassie has met who work with me at the shop.
"Cassie should be here any moment," I say as I finish up sweeping.
I decided to do all the closing tasks I needed to do since we were technically shutting down the shop soon. Yoongi's allowing me to do one tattoo tonight and he was fine with me doing it after hours since he was planning on hanging back with me in the shop. He said he needed to take care of some things in the little shop office.
My first day of handling a couple scheduled tattoos and walk-in tattoo clients is tomorrow. I wasn't planning on doing any tattoos today. I just planned on working for four hours to do piercings, since I've been licensed to do so, as well as help around the shop.
I was grateful to be a part of the shop and land a paid internship with them about two years ago. I juggled my internship along with my full-time job as a personal trainer at a gym. But, now I'll be working less as a trainer since being a tattoo artist is something I'd rather do full-time.
The crew at the shop have been so helpful during my internship. I've learned so much from Yoongi, Namjoon, Irene and Hoseok, as well as the resident piercer, Alexa, and my fellow apprentice, Felix. Both Irene and Hoseok are not only talented tattoo artists but they are also licensed in piercing. When it comes to tattoos, Irene specializes in watercolor and Japanese style tattoos while Hoseok specializes in traditional and neo-traditional tattoos. But, they are both killer when it comes to tackling other styles of tattoos.
Yoongi and Namjoon are more focused on tattooing since they are incredibly sought after for what they specialize in. Both of them are brilliant when it comes to portraits, realism and black and grey tattoos. People come to them when they want a well-done portrait tattoo. They've had clients travel from all over the country and even from other countries! But, although they specialize in certain styles, they can do any other style perfectly. Those two men are awe-inspiring.
Because of Namjoon and Yoongi, they made their shop so well-known and because they get so much clientele, they have a sizable shop with a big staff compared to other tattoo places.
It was the shop I wanted to be a part of and I'm beyond thankful they took my ass in and shaped me up as a tattoo artist.
"Make sure you get set up soon so Cassie doesn't have to wait around too long," Hoseok suggests as he focuses on the Dragonite he's close to finishing up. I nod at him and put away the broom so I can clean up.
After I wash my hands, I start to set up in the station that Namjoon and Yoongi said will be where I'll be tattooing for now on. I've already made the space my own, even having put up some of my sketches on display.
A few minutes pass and we hear the door chimes going off and I spot Cassie entering the shop, five minutes before closing time.
Our new shop receptionist, Sana, would usually be the one to greet her, but she usually doesn't close up on Saturdays. Our shop manager, Dami, usually fills in receptionist duties in the evening. Though, she's currently in the office discussing business with Namjoon and Yoongi.
