Chapter 21

Third person view
Relina looks down on the islands of Ataraxia. The city was once one of the few places with life in Ardonia, but now, all plant life had been destroyed by the flames of battle, corpses of Voltaris everywhere. The paradise is now as dead as anywhere else.

' We didn't find a lot of supplies,' Zenon tells the Voltaris leader from behind, ' Either they didn't have much resources, or some got away.'

Freya, Hana and Loran are also present. Loran's gaze is fixated on Relina, almost glaring at her. While Hana is stoic, Freya looks anxious, as if she wants to say something.

Relina's face remains blank, ' When the head of the snake is cut off, the rest of the body is just an ordinary rope. With Karina killed, the resistance should be no problem without their leader,' she turns around to face him, ' We have bigger matters to attend to.'

Freya takes a few nervous steps forward, ' Something happened...'

Relina narrows her eyes, seeming a little annoyed, ' What?'

When Freya can't bring herself to tell her the news, Zenon speaks for her, ' We also found Senn by the river, dead.'

Everyone is silent for a moment, waiting for the Voltaris master to take in the information. They were half expecting Relina to explode in rage at the loss of her childhood friend, or break down, even if the second was highly unlikely. What they were not expecting though, was for her expression to not change one bit, ' I see.'

' I see?' Freya gapes at the lack of response. Before she could say anything further, Hana holds out her hand in front of her, shaking her head, stopping her from doing something she ought to regret. Freya pauses, then steps down.

' Loran,' she turns her attention to her nephew, ' What of Lora and Loris?' When Loran doesn't say anything, Relina turns around to face him, ' Did you kill them as I asked?'

Loran looks down on the ground, and Relina could sense that something was wrong. She's about to call him out just as Loran looks back up, ' I underestimated them at first, but they are taken care of.'

Relina walks up to him warily, staring into his eyes, trying to find any hints of dishonesty. Loran stood his ground, returning the stare. That was enough for Relina, ' Good,' she says, backing up. She glances to all of them, ' Our next priority is the Aggressium Prime Song. Either we get it from the Knights or the Enderchest. Since Loran has shared the location of the Knights, it should be easier compared to having to look for the Enderqueen. Get ready, we set out to Mendoria.'

Aldora's (OD) p.o.v
Me, Cassian, Natalie and Nalla enter the room, where Kaeleon is looking around. His eyes immediately land on Nalla, but he doesn't say a word, which I am grateful for. ' Where are the Voltaris siblings?' he asks after doing a head count.

Cassian shrugs, ' I looked all around Mendoria, but I didn't see them. I thought they were already here.' Tension rises in the room. Kaeleon sighs, ' I was thinking it would be better if everyone-'

The Nestoris is cut off by a huffing Voltaris girl who enters the room. Judging from how short and quick her breathing is, she must have rushed all the way here, ' Sorry... for interrupting...' she pants, ' Me and my friends...'

A Sendaris boy sticks his head out behind the Voltaris, raising his hand as he informs them, ' We found two Voltaris knocked out in the outskirts of the village,' the Sendaris seems to have more breath than his companion, ' They had asked us where to find you before, so I assume you know them?' A Mendoris and Kaltaris walk up behind them, each carrying a Voltaris on their backs.
