Nalla's p.o.v

I'm about to leave Kaltaria when I hear footsteps. I slowly place Kaltar on my back and draw out my greatsword, cautiously walking in the direction of the sound, in case it's an enemy.

Gasps come from the other side of the wall, and then the newcomers start talking. I take a peek, and see that it's a Mendoris together with two Nestoris, relaxing a little, but tense back up when a Voltaris follows.

' What happened here...?' I hear the Voltaris ask. That might mean that she probably had nothing to do with the attacks. I don't remember seeing her markings in Reya's visions either.

' That's not important right now, let's split up and search for Ky' Val,' the Mendoris says, but is stopped by another Kaltaris, who mutters, ' I feel like someone's watching us...' he looks around, yelling, ' Show yourself!'

The moment I lay eyes on his markings, I immediately recognise him as Evan. It's been years since he left Kaltaria for Mendoria. I've been noticed anyway, and they have so far appeared to mean no harm, so I step out from behind the wall, revealing myself.

' Nalla?' Evan looks surprised to see me. He turns to his companions, ' Wait, I know her, she's an old friend!' they put out their weapons, so I feel safer approaching them. ' What happened here?'

' Voltaris happened,' I tell him, ' They killed everyone when I was away...'

Evan glances to Kaltar on my back, and his face morphs into shock, ' Even... Master Reya...?' I nod solemnly, ' There's not a single survivor, whoever you're looking for is probably gone as well.'

They all look down in sadness. The Mendoris had mentioned Ky' Val, a name I've heard many times. She was involved in the Second Great War and is quite well known across Ardoni for training others to wield Songs. I try to recall Kaltar's visions, but I don't remember seeing a Mendoris in the chaos of red and green.

' The survivors of Sendaria are headed to Nestoria, maybe you would like to go there as well,' I suggest.

Evan nods, ' Mendoria's survivors are on their way there, we'll be leaving soo-'

' Wait!' the Voltaris calls out, ' Since we're here, can we check on New Voltaria for a moment?' she looks down, ' I just... want to see if my home is alright...'

' New Voltaria was attacked as well,' I inform her, ' But some survived, maybe you can go ahead and help them.'

' What about you?' one of the Nestoris asks.

' I have somewhere to be.'

Third person view

On the uncharted islands of Ardonia, a Voltaris wades into the water, a long wooden pole in her hand. She summons her Aggressium Song, and a glowing red blade forms on the front end of the pole, making it a spear.

Her eyes study the fish's movements in the water, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. After a while, she shifts slightly, having sensed a presence. Startled, the fish all swim away, but the Voltaris doesn't change her stance, instead she tightens her grip on the pole.

Suddenly, she whips around, hurling the spear in a direction behind her. Relina tilts her head to the side, her right hand catching the pole mid-air. The blade on the end of the stick dissipates into red particles. Relina spins the pole around, getting a feel for it, then throws it back to the other Voltaris, who doesn't even bother catching it, so it splashes into the water. The Voltaris' eyes are fixated on the Voltaris master, glaring daggers at her.
