' Okay then, I'm off to Ky' Val's training,' Amora tells Argus and Allen after they finish training.

' Wait, Amora!' Argus stops her before she leaves.

' Yes?'

' Would you, like to, you know, go out this evening?' he asks a bit awkwardly.

' Sure, I guess, where to though?' Amora looks at him curiously.

' It's a surprise,' Argus merely states.

' Hmmm...' the Mendoris thinks for a moment, then looks back at him,
' Alright, you can find me in my room this evening. Now I best get going.' With that, Amora leaves the two Nestoris.

Allen nudges his best friend, ' So you finally asked her out,' he grins.

' I just... Never mind...'

In the other dimension...

Three Voltaris are venturing through Ardonia, heading for Ataraxia on horseback. Hana, Freya and Senn (OD). They come across a river. Just as they arrive, something emerges from the water.

' Guardian!' Senn (OD) shouts. The guardian sends a beam at him, and he uses his Protisium Song, making a shield that blocks the beam, but the guardian doesn't stop, continuing to try and drag him into the water.

Freya uses Mobilileap, leaping onto the guardian's back, but jerks back as her skin scratches against the spikes. It stings, but she tries to ignore the pain, taking out one of her knives. Knowing that the blade isn't enough to pierce the guardian's skin, she summons her Aggressium Song, enhancing the blade and manages to stab it through it's skin. The guardian shrieks in pain before disappearing into the water, and Freya uses Mobilileap again to get back to land on time.

Senn (OD) stops summoning his Song, ' I thought guardians were extinct?'

' Apparently not,' Hana says, looking at the other side of the river, ' They're guarding something beyond the river,' she looks back at them, ' We have to be careful, there could be more of them, even an elder guardian.'

' But there's no way to cross...' Freya says, ' My Song won't take me that far, and you guys don't have a Mobilium Song.'

' What choice do we have?' Hana asks. She points to the spiky rocks jutting out of the water, ' Freya, do you think your Song can take you from one spike to the other?'

' I don't know, they're pretty far apart...' Freya tells her, ' But I'll try.' She backs up from the riverbank a little, then darts forward, using her Mobilium Song at the last minute and propelling herself up and forward. With a yell, she grabs onto the rock.
' I got it-'

Suddenly, her hand slips from the rock, and she falls into the water below.

Nalla's p.o.v

20 years ago... (The day after the prologue)

I wake up to the sound of stuff colliding with each other. Our parents were going on yet another journey out of Kaltaria. Being blacksmiths, most of the time, they needed to also deliver the weapons they forged. However, they rarely get to spend much time with us because of that. It's the reason I grew a resentment for blacksmithing, while my sister was always curious and willing to learn from our father, I never wanted to pick up even the basic skills.
