Chapter 5: Confused

Barry's P.O.V.

"What?"

How did all this happen with Jacob today?
I could hear Iris singing that childish song for second-graders. "Y/n's got a boyfriend, Y/n's got a boyfriend."

My eyes turned to look at Y/n and I could see her cheeks begin to change into a deep red. She does not have feelings for Jacob. She can't. Jacob is over-protective, over-baring, over-jealous, over-everything.

My thoughts were interupted by her voice, "What's up, Barry?" She asked.
I replied plainly, "I don't know.. I just don't trust Jacob. Something's off with him." I rubbed my neck, uncomfortable with what I was saying, but I can tell Y/n emotions changed because of my disapproval.

"Well, I like him for Y/n/n."
Iris said, breaking the awkward silence.
They high-fived and I couldn't even have a fake smile for her.
I mean, really? Jacob? Y/n could do so much better than that.

Y/n looked at her phone and smiled. "Sorry, guys. I have to leave. I'll be back soon." She says as she rises from her chair.
Somehow she looked weak and she collapsed to the ground. I couldn't show Iris my newly found power, so I humanly ran towards her and held her in my arms. She was cold to the touch. Iris looked at me and said "STAR Labs, now."

She ran towards the car and I knew I needed to take her there, so I supersped to STAR Labs, before Iris could notice. Looking for someone to help, I could feel Y/n heart beat slow down. I was so worried for her, I couldn't even think straight. I finally ran towards the training lab, where I finally found Cisco and Caitlyn. They both dropped what they did and ran to the medical lab. I layed her down on the bed and watched them do what they had to do.

"What happened, Barry?" Caitlyn asked as she tried waking Y/n up.

"I don't know. She was about to leave, but she collapsed and I had to leave Iris to take her here." I said, unable to control myself.

"Hey, bro. She's gonna be okay." Cisco said, trying to calm me down.

While Caitlyn worked on waking Y/n up, Dr. Wells came in and saw our situation.

"What happened, Mr. Allen?" He asked, turning his head towards me.

"I don't know, Dr. Wells." I answered, scared.

"What do you mean, 'you don't know?' You were there with her. What happened?" He replied, angrily.

"Y/n collapsed. She was about to leave but became weak." I say lowering my head. "I don't know why it happened, but I do know I can't lose her."

As if on queue, Y/n heart stopped. Caitlyn stood on top of her and began giving CPR.

"No, you can't die on me." She said as tears began to pour out of her eyes.

Cisco ran to get the AED and put gel over it. While Cisco was getting ready to set the voltage, Caitlyn got off Y/n, but didn't stop helping her breathe. Even if she broke Y/n's bones, she couldn't let her die.

I just stood there.

Watching them work on her.

I couldn't do anything.

I recently found out I could become a hero and I can't even save her life.

"400 v." Cisco yelled and Caitlyn stepped away. Cisco put one pad over her heart and the other on her left rib. "Clear!" He yelled as the voltage went through her body.

Nothing.

"600 v." He said, with tears on the bridge of his eyes. "Clear!"

Nothing.
