CHAPTER 9

Namula ang mukha ng lalaki at sinapak rin ako. I tasted the blood on my lips.

"Ano masakit-"

Hindi na nito natuloy ang sinasabi nang sapakin ko ito ulit at sipain ito sa dibdib. He was still recovering from that when I swiped his legs under him. Mabilis itong bumagsak sa lupa.

"Ano pang inaantay niyo? Sugurin niyo na! Hindi pwedeng walang natatakot sa atin dito!"

I saw how the other men pulled their knives out. Iyong iba nga eh may tubo pang hawak.

I fetched my special dagger from my back. It's the only weapon I have.

What happened next was chaotic. Winter trained me for this. It was reminiscent of our training arena before.

Sa bawat pagkakataon na nakikita ko ay inaatake ko ang mga hita at tagiliran ng mga ito ng aking patalim. 

Evidently, the men didn't know how to fight. Alam lang ng mga ito na sumugod pero hindi ang makipaglaban talaga. 

I was able to snatch the metal tube and that helped me fight off the men.

By the time I was done, all of them were sprawled on the floor. Buhay pa naman ang mga ito.

Hinarap ko ang lider-lideran ng mga ito na nakatayo na ngayon. "Well, the minions are down. Let's see what you got?"

Mabilis nitong hinagip ang bangko pero bago pa nito maipalo sa akin ay nasipa ko na ang tiyan nito. Napaatras ito.

I backed up a bit to do the final move. She twirled in the air and kicked his head.

Lalapitan ko sana ito pero nagtaas na ito ng kamay. "Tama na!"

Binitiwan ko ang tubo at itinago na ang patalim ko. Nilapitan ko ito at kinuwelyuhan ito. "Pay for my damn soup you f*cking sh*thead!"

Natataranta itong nagbigay ng bills sa akin.

"Pay the owners too for the damages."

"Ha? Eh tagpi-tagpi lang naman-"

Hinugot ko uli ang patalim ko. "Pay. Up. Dipsh*t!"

Tumayo ito at nagmamadaling nilagay sa mesa ng may-ari lahat ng pera nito. Lumuhod pa ito sa harap ko.

"Sorry! Sorry!"

"This won't happen again, you get me? I'll remember your f*cking faces. If any word about this gets out, I will hunt you down. Get it?"

"Yes! Yes! Sorry!"

Pinanood ko habang kinaldkad nito ang mga miyembro nito. Binilang ko ang pera na iniwan nito.

"Sorry this happened. I hope this is enough to cover the damages." Nilabas ko ang wallet ko. Bago ko pa mailabas ang pera ko ay sinugod ako ng dalawa. Niyakap ako ng mahigpit. Nanigas nanaman ang katawan niya. What's with all the hugging in this place?

"Salamat! Salamat!" Maluha-luha pa nga ang dalawa habang nakayakap sa akin.

That she understands. It's 'thank you'.

"Seriously. I'll also pay for the damages."

"No! You saved us! Sinalba mo kami, hija!"

"I don't understand..."

"Those are bad guys. They steal from our shop. They will not come back now because of you."
