Nasa isang maliit na burol kami ni Kylo habang nanonood ng mga bituin. Ang kaibahan ng probinsya na ito sa mga lugar na napuntahan niya ay kitang-kita ang mga bituin sa langit. Unlike those overpopulated, over-urbanized cities where all you see is smog.

"Have you always been traveling?" Tanong nito sa akin.

I don't know why Kylo and I are having a moment like this. Nobody cared who am I so I didn't care about other people too.

"I have. The longest I've been in one place is about six months or so. I was on a mission."

"Where's the best place you've been to?"

"Best place... How do you say a place is the best place?"

He shrugged. "A place that is unforgettable? A very beautiful place. I've been to Cappadocia and for me that is the best place. Well, second to my province."

Tumango ako. I've been to Turkey. Still on a mission. Wala na akong oras noon na manood ng mga hot air balloon noon sa Cappadocia.

"I don't know. The only memories I have of places are my missions. All of them are successful and bloody. Nothing stands out."

"Hmm..."

Nilingon ko ito. It is getting late. Kailangan na naming makabalik sa mansiyon.

"Should we head back?"

"I think we should."

"I'll drive."

He nodded and settled in the passenger seat.

"Kylo..."

"Yeah?"

"I think we should work as a team now more than ever. We are not alike in anything. We are not really close friends. But we should stop being awkward and annoyed with each other. You know?"

I did a lot of reflection when I was recuperating that our teamwork is not really working since we don't really like each other. Mas madali kaming matatalo ng kalaban namin kung kami mismo ay hindi magkasundo.

"That is correct. I am happy you realize that."

"You should have too you dumba**! We're in this together! The faster we finish this mission, the faster I get out of here."

"So eager to go huh?"

"I'd say I'm a wanderlust but I travel for missions, not for leisure. I always want to move. I don't want to be stagnant."

"What if you like it here? Won't you like to stay here?"

I smiled bitterly. "I've never loved a place so much to stay there. This is not different."

Napansin ko lang na tumango ang katabi ko.

"So, it's a deal? Let's be friends. Partners in this mission. Hmm?"

"It's a deal."

I smiled. Looks like everything is going well.

Nang malapit na kami sa tulay ay napansin ko ang isang sasakyan sa likod namin. It might be just normal traveler traversing the same road as ours but I knew better.

We came from a hill that is on the outskirts. We passed by two bus stops and several villages. I tried to slow down and let them go first but they didn't budge.

Now, we are on the less lighted roads without villages nearby.

Inabot ko kay Kylo ang isang baril. "Just take hold of this."
