Steve was put in charge of ensuring Arthur's armor was on securely when Lancelot came in with a grumpy-looking Morgana, followed by Claire behind her.

"Your sister, as requested, my lord," Lancelot bowed.

"Why have I been summoned?" Morgana questioned irritably.

"The beasts in the dungeon have escaped, aided by shadow magic. Curious coincidence, hmm?" Arthur subtly accused.

"I was in my quarters all night, being a good little indentured sorceress," Morgana replied. Arthur frowned at Morgana's tone and turned to grab Excalibur.

"The creatures were seen fleeing into the Wild Woods. You will help me take them down," Arthur stated.

"What?!" Morgana exclaimed angrily. "Why?"

"Consider it a test of loyalty," Arthur responded.

"You don't trust your own sister?" Morgana questioned, crossing her arms.

"Bring me their heads, or yours will be on the chopping block next," Arthur responded.

___

"I can't believe that man!" Morgana growled, now standing in her room.

"That was a little harsh," Claire agreed.

"I can't kill innocent creatures," Morgana said. "But if I don't do anything, Arthur will kill me."

"So, what are you going to do?" Claire asked, frowning.

"I don't know," Morgana replied. "But I will decide when the time comes."

___

"What if Jim gets caught this time?" Claire worried, looking over at Douxie.

"You know as good as I do that Jim won't get caught," Douxie responded, looking over at Claire. "He doesn't have that onyx shard stuck in his chest either, which will definitely ensure him in being safe."

"You're right," Claire nodded. Douxie pulled out the time map from his pocket and opened it.

"Arthur is still destined to die in this timeline," Douxie said. "We know he will, but we still need to do some things to make sure everything goes the same as it did last time."

Steve walked into the stall they were talking in.

"Hunting the trolls is not going to be fun. Like at all," Steve said, groaning.

"Are we going to try and make Morgana and Arthur bond during this like last time?" Claire questioned.

"I don't know. We should, to be on the safer side, but even so, nothing will be exactly the same as last time," Douxie sighed. "This is surprisingly more complicated than I imagined."

"Nah, we'll figure it out," Steve said, throwing his arms around both Claire and Douxie's shoulders. "Play it by ear and all that, right?"

"That's actually a good idea, Steve," Douxie smiled. "Play it by ear instead of trying to plan everything all at once."

"See? I can give good advice!" Steve exclaimed.

"Yes, you can," Claire chuckled.

"Sir Steve! We are all thirsty!" Galahad called out. Steve sighed.

"Even if I'm more respected in this timeline, I still pulled the short straw, and now I have to serve all the drinks again," Steve groaned. "Some things just won't change."

"I'll keep an eye on Morgana," Claire said.

"And I'll keep an eye on Arthur," Douxie responded.
