*Christopher POV*
We arrived at the castle and the doctor took me to the infirmary, he cleaned the wound. It wasn't deep so, I didn't need stitches. I watched the gate out the window, waiting for everyone to return... waiting for her to return. 20 minutes went by when I heard the hooves of a horse. I saw John come through the gate and jump off the horse, my heart stopped when I saw him holding her staff. I ran towards the gate, meeting him at the entrance. Out of breath I shouted, "What happened!"

Startled by my voice he panted, breathlessly trying to form words. The King appeared beside me and told him to take some breaths. He got his breath and began to explain.

"David wanted to head west to draw them away from you long enough for you to reach the castle, he told Skylar and I to follow you guys. I was hesitant, I knew that we would make more noise than he did and it would be pointless. Skylar must have thought the same because she suggested she send a gust of wind west so it seemed like we all went west and then he could ride behind the wind until we could break away and head south back towards the village." He paused as he looked at me, his eyes were fearful.

"Skylar rode with David, their horse was hit by an arrow. They both went flying. I was only slighting behind them, David threw her staff too me and told me to go. I should have stayed...maybe they wouldn't have been captured." Anger filled me, as he spoke the last words. The thought of what they might do to her. If they found out she was the Air Warrior, she would be killed... I let out a scream and punched the wall beside me.

"I'm sorry sir, I should have stayed with them..." he spoke as his head fell.

I rested my head against the wall and I screamed again.

"Christopher. I know that this is hard to hear but, they need them alive to get information. She is smart, she knows not to reveal herself. You have to trust that they will get through this." He laid his hand on my shoulder and I fell into his arm. He hugged me, holding me up. I knew he was right. David was my best Guard, if anyone could get them out, it was him.

I turned toward John who was practically shaking, "this isn't your fault John, you are a good warrior who was following an order from your commander." I reached my hand out and he grabbed it and shook it. "We'll get them back." I nodded towards him.

*Skylars POV*

"A woman? The King is so desperate he let a woman join his guard!" One of the men laughed, causing the rest of the men to join in. The man stepped forward, he was dirty, his teeth rotten, missing a few on his right side. He was a bigger man, more fat than muscular. He smelled of cigarettes and I could tell that he was one of those guys that saw women as nothing more than housewives and play things.

"She'll be easy to break." He spat at me before demanding the other man to open my cell. As soon as he opened it I pushed through head butting him. Blood trickled down his mouth. He used the back of his hand to wipe away the blood as he chuckled, backhanding me across the face making me stumble into the other man who grabbed me and held me.

"Take her to the other room!" The man dragged me, walking me towards a door on the other side of the room. I drug my feet trying to get away.  From his cell I heard David yelling.

"Leave her alone! She doesn't know anything!" The guard approached his cell and laughed.

"I guess we will find out, won't we."

The guard tied me to a chair and took my helmet off, revealing my long hair. The bigger guy walked in, and paced around me. Circling me like a shark. He pulled my hair, yanking my head back. I let out a small grunt. He leaned in and spoke, "we can make this painless. Tell us what you know about the Air Warrior and the kings plans and I'll make sure your death is fast." His breath made me sick. I swallowed, I could feel my heartbeat in my neck.

"I don't know anything! I swear." I said terrified, trying to convince him. He released my hair allowing my head to fall. He walked away and then turned back towards me.

"The hard was it is then." He laughed, which made my blood run cold. It was a sinister laugh. I closed my eyes and tried to control my breathing. I gasped as I felt his fit connect with my cheek, knocking me backward as my chair fell to the ground.
