I felt his raise his sword slightly, my heartbeat sped up as I wait for the impact of his sword. I flinched when I felt a splatter of liquid hit my face. My eyes shot open, and I was stunned as the Kings swords fell from his hand. He gasped for air; I saw an ice sickle sticking out of his neck. I quickly stumbling back, crawling up the stairs slightly as i watched him fall backwards. I could hear the gurgling of blood filling his throat as he choked on his blood. My eyes searched the room, fearful of what just happened. My eyes stopped when I saw William. His head hung down; his body looked deflated as he fell to his knees. He let out a small sigh as his father's shallow breaths stopped.

His head slowly lifted as he looked at me, he had tears in his eyes. My heart ached as I slowly got to my feet. I hobbled over to him, moving slowing. I held my hand out towards him. He shook his head, hesitating to take it. eventually he took it and I helped him to his feet. "Thank you... I_ I don't know how to thank you... you saved my life." My voice was shaky.

"I couldn't let him win...I can't keep hiding who I am from him, I can't keep living in fear every day of my life." He croaked, staring over my shoulder at his father's body.

"You will make a great King, William... help us unite the Kingdoms so that we can live in harmony. Unafraid." I drew his attention to my eyes, as they pleaded with him.

"The Kingdom will not accept me; I will be banished for killing the King. The crown is no longer mine. I made my decision..." He nodded; I could tell he was disappointed. I turned to look at the King, shaking my head.

"Go!" I turned back to him, he looked at me confused. "No one has to know that it was you... leave and return to the battlefield. Make sure your men see you, I will come out in 10 minutes and declare that I have killed the King."

"But_ why would you do that for me? After everything my father has done to your_" He stopped. "Our kind. After everything my men did to you." His eyes stared at the circle scar on my neck.

"Because I truly believe that you will make a fair and just King, William. You are not your father; you should not have to answer for his actions. Now go!" I shouted at him as I turned to the king. I removed the ice sickle from his throat, throwing it into the fire that was burning across the room. I sat down on the stairs, trying to catch my breath. "Kilo" I breathed out.

I heard a smoothing voice fill my head, "you called young air warrior?" I let out a small breath as I smiled.

"I need your help... please." I didn't hear anything... I waited a moment and then spoke, "I just need you to silence the battle long enough for me to declare the King is dead... please Kilo." I asked with a touch of desperation in my voice. I got to my feet, still no response... I sighed.

I forced myself towards the large balcony that oversaw the battle below. I stared into the night sky, watching as the clouds moved over the moon partially hiding it. A smile peeked from my lips when I heard the familiar sound of wings flapping. I watched as Kilo's large body flew through the air, he slowed down as he reached me. "Get on, Air warrior... we have an announcement to make." His voice filled my head as he turned his body, exposing his back to me.

I took out my glider and floated over to him, landing with a thud on his back. I laughed like a kid as he flew around the castle. He let out a loud and chilling growl before spitting fire into the air. I heard the battle stop; the clanking of the swords came to a halt as he flew closer. He hovered above the battle his wings blowing the trees. I stood to my feet, steadying myself on his back. I searched the field. I made eye contact with William who was standing beside a group of his men... I looked towards the gate of the castle where Christopher stood staring up at me.

"The King is Dead!" I shouted, holding my staff up. A few of our men cheered, I saw the group of men surround William and slowly escort him toward the Castle. "Lay your swords down and take a knee, we will return to our Kingdom in peace!" I watched as William nodded to his men, they slowly knelt down and dropped their weapons. "Retreat!" I yelled towards our men. They looked towards Christopher before moving a muscle.

He smiled, "You heard the Princess, fall back!" He shouted towards causing them to turn and head back towards the Silver Relm. Kilo flew up making me fall on my ass. I grabbed onto him, wrapping my arms around his large body as he spun in the air. He headed toward the castle, landing outside the gate.

I jumped to the ground, smiling up at him as he flapped his wings slowly. "Thank you, Kilo."

His snout nudged me, "It is an honor to be your spirit dragon...Princess." I laughed as he said the word, it made my heart happy. I kissed his snout, causing a low chuckle to echo in my head. He took off into the air, leaving me alone. I heard the warriors in the distance, making their way towards the castle. I waited for them as I watched Kilo disappear.
