Chapter 27

_Sage_

My eyes were wide.

"Dad?!" I said in pure shock.

He awkwardly smiled and scratched the back of his head. "Hi sage.." I could tell he didn't know what to say.

I squinted my eyes in realization. "You came home with mom last night?!" I asked in shock, he sheepishly smiled.

"Yea but keep your voice down, before your grandparents hear. Unfortunately it was a one time thing, sagey.."

"But how? Moms seeing someone, I'm not sure if he's told you." I said, he nodded.

"Yes he did tell me , but they were having issues that needed to be worked out." I crossed my arms at his words.

"Really dad, what were the issues?" I asked.

"Sage it's not my business to tell, If your mom hasn't told you yet." I sighed but nodded, because it was the truth.

"And where is he now?" I asked, he motioned with his head to the stairs.

"Still in bed." I nodded.

"Want something to drink or eat?" I asked him.

He shook his head. "No I should be heading out soon, before your grandparents wake up."

"Does mom know you're leaving?" I know I was asking a million questions, but it was weird to see him here.

"Yea I told him. Tell your sister I love her and I'll see you soon, sagey." I got up and gave him a hug.

"I love you dad."

"I love you too, sagey." He kissed my forehead and grabbed his jacket.

I walked him to the door. He smiled and then left. I shut the door and sighed.

I'll question mom about it later.

I headed back to the kitchen where my phone was  to text mateo.

A Few Hours Later

I was watching tv in the living room when mom finally decided to head down.

I looked up at him, he was all smiles.

"What are you all happy about?" I questioned, he shook his head.

"Nothing."

Mhm I muttered.

He headed to the kitchen and I followed behind. "Yea sure, then why was Dad here this morning." His eyes widened. I smirked.

"Caught in a lie, mom?" He coughed.

"What are you talking about?" He quietly asked, I shrugged.

"Don't act like you don't know, I talked to him when he came down."

"Okay yea he was here, so?" He asked, I laughed.

"Mom it's all good, but what happened with your boyfriend?" He sighed.

"We got into a little argument."

"So you called dad?" I asked, he nodded.

"Yea. when we were together anytime I felt like shit, or wanted to cry and I was sad, I'd call him. I know it probably wasn't the best thing to do but he made me feel better, and Safe like always. It was kinda nice." I smiled at his words.

"That's really sweet mom, are you okay?" I asked.

"Yea, men suck." I nodded at that.

"Yea they do."

"Anyways what's his name?" I asked hoping he'd finally tell me.

"You don't need to know . Just know this, he's handsome, tall, funny, and he teaches." I nodded.

"Teaches what?" I asked probably something like yoga.

"Just know he teaches. Now stop asking." I playfully rolled my eyes.

"Fine I will, for now." He shook his head and smiled.
