Chapter 4

So I heard some news about my dad. It's only been months and apparently he's already dating and has step kids. He's been living with them and treating them how he used to treat us.

When I heard the news I swear my heart broke into a million pieces, it hurts it really does.

But what can I do about it? Nothing, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it.

Was it me? Did I chase my own dad away by being a terrible kid that he had to go get a whole new family?

It's my fault isn't it. He cheated cause I wasn't a good enough kid. That has to be the answer because my mom loved that man like no one else. I thought he was the only one who had his heart, I could've sworn just months before Silvia and I were gagging about how lovey dovey they were being.

I guess we were all fooled.

_A Few Months Ago_

_Third Person Pov_

The family had just finished eating lunch and were getting ready to clean up the mess. It was a warm Sunday afternoon. A cool breeze seeped through the cracked windows, wind blowing just enough for it to feel amazing.

Everything was perfect.

Silvia was getting started on the dishes, while Sage cleared the table. Jaime was sweeping and Jax was being Jax and 'helping' Jaime sweep. No one ever complained cause they all secretly found it cute. "I think we could use a little music." Jax said, Jaime nodded in agreement.

"Music does sound good right now. I'll go look for the radio, it should be in the garage somewhere." Silvia laughed at Jaime's words.

"Mom I can play you music right off my phone, no need for all that. You guys are so old!" She teased, Jax smiled.

"And still lookin fine as wine baby." Jax said and grabbed Jaime. The two were now kissing. "Ew, gross!" The teens shouted. The two pulled apart.

"Hurry and play the music before we make another one of you." Jax said, Jaime lightly smacked Jax's chest.

"Honey!" Me and Silvia gagged in disgust. But I know secretly we were both thinking how in love these two were.

"Yeah cause I'm definitely fine hearing about that!" She said and quickly put on some music.

And of course the song she plays is

They both smile so wide. They're so happy. Sage thinks.

The two start dancing.

Slow dancing in the middle of the kitchen.

The two weren't worried about anything, It was just them in that moment.

They sway back and forth as they hold each other close, like they never want to let go.

I want what they have.

Both of the teens thought.

Someday I hope I can be as lucky as them to find someone that loves me like they love each other. Sage thought to himself.
