Spencer's POV

"So is it just me or does your little 'love in the club' bae have a problem with me?" Yonni asks as we make our way to her car.

"It's just you!" I say plainly. "I got class in fifteen minutes. You going to take me or what?"

"I recognize her from the club last night. So who is she to you?"

"You literally picked me up from work and brought me here. How the hell would I know she would be here?" I question seriously.

"But you do know her, correct?" She asks and I shake my head.

"Not that I owe you an explanation, but this house we're working on! I guess she lives there."

"You guess?" She asks.

"She dates some musician that lives there, Yonni. And what is up with all of these damn questions? I don't grill you about whatever it is you have going on," I reply smartly. "So can you take me to class or should I start walking?"

She rolls her eyes as she hands me the keys to drive and I accept before opening her door and watching her get inside.

I walk around the car and take a deep breath before hopping in because I have a feeling this isn't the end of the Olivia conversation.

"So she's spoken for, but checking for you?" Yonni continues.

"—I'll just walk!" I tell her and she frowns.

"Seriously? Now you have an attitude? We just had a nice dinner with some bomb ass bathroom sex. Then you catch an attitude and walk off!"

I open the car door without remorse. "Because you're worried about the wrong shit, Yonni."

"Whatever, Spencer! You just love this cat and mouse thing we do—-"

"There's no more cat and mouse. Don't call me— don't come by—- don't reach out— because I'm done for real," I tell her sternly and she just grins.

"Isn't that the same thing you said last time?" She asks as she grabs my arm to stop me from getting out of the car. "Look, I'm sorry if I asked too many questions!"

Her words don't fall on death ears as my heart quickly forgives, which makes me even more upset. Only this time, I'm upset at myself for not walking away.

"Fuck!" I yell as I continue to get out of the car and slam the door behind me.

"Really? Stop being so dramatic, Spencer!"

I stare up to the sky as if I'll get an answer to the question of why I can't leave all of this toxicity for good.

And truthfully, I know why. But I'm afraid it'll be even harder for me to walk away, if I admit it.

"Exactly!" She says sarcastically through the open window. "Now stop playing and get your fine ass in this car."

I sigh and take a lengthy breath before opening the car door and getting back inside.

It's her giggle that allows me to remember one of her better traits; her sense of humor, playfulness, mixed with her beautiful body.

"What are you doing?" I ask as her hand caresses my lower part before I start the car.

"I'm stroking—-," she chuckles before finishing. "—-your ego—."

"My ego doesn't need to be stroked," I say and she rolls her eyes as she leans over to kiss me.

I pull off after letting out a small laugh. "You get on my nerves!"

"What I do?" She asks innocently.
