Spencer's POV
I stare off into the evening sky with Olivia next to me as a shiny-red Ford Focus pulls into the driveway of my mom's house.
"Who is that?" I ask lowly as the door opens and I see the silhouette of my little sister walk past the headlights of the car.
"Bro!" She yells as she notices me standing there. Her sprint into my arms, makes me smile before I kiss her cheek. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too," I tell her before we let go. "This is, my friend, Olivia. And Olivia this is my baby sister Delilah."
"You can call me Dee," she says politely and Olivia smiles.
"Well, you can call me Liv."
"You never let me call you Liv," I say in her ear, making her blush.
"That's because I like when you call me Olivia," she whispers in between her teeth.
"Wow, I haven't seen you this cheeky over a lady in ages," Dee mouths in her natural British accent, making me shake my head before looking over and seeing Olivia's grin.
I don't find my little sister amusing. But if she's entertaining to Olivia, I'll let her be.
"Since when does a part-time bakery cashier get brand new cars after working only three months?" I ask curiously.
"Since dad wants to buy my love back for allowing the divorce to happen," she answers proudly and I laugh.
She was always daddy's little girl. So I'm not surprised.
"Oh, and I would've appreciated if you told me about mom." I say and she looks remorseful. "You danced around telling me. And you forced me to talk your dad."
She laughs. "He's your father too. And mommy begged me to not tell you. She wanted you focused on that big acting career you left here for."
I understand their dilemma, but they would've done better being honest with me. I always seem to respect that more than half truths and lies.
"Yeah, well, ma wants me to have dinner with dad now. Thanks to you!" I say knowing my little sister won't feel an ounce of remorse.
"Y'all should talk," Dee suggest.
"I don't mind talking. I'm just wondering if he's going to bring his illegitimate child too?" I ask, sarcastically.
And by the look on my sister's face, she doesn't find humor in my wit.
"Coop is performing at The Crossing tonight. We should go," Dee says to change the subject.
"I can't go out the first night I visit mom."
"Are you serious? Look at her. She's better than ever." She says and I smile at how well she's doing. "—Outside of the cat-scan she still needs to do."
"She looks great. But I don't want her to feel lonely enough to go back into the place she was in before I decided to come visit."
"We're both happy you're here, bro! But we're big girls now." Dee says sarcastically. "So in other words, ma doesn't need us in her sleep."
My little sister and I were close growing up. So leaving her was almost as hard as leaving my mom.
I take a thoughtful breath before looking over at Olivia.
"Alright, we can go!" I give in.
"Seriously?" Dee questions.
"If Olivia wants to go," I add before winking at her.
