Spencer's POV

I tap my fingers against the wall as I wait for Olivia to exit the bathroom.

Seeing her tonight made me wish I wasn't here with Shawn and his friends. I have wanted to be with Olivia since the first time we had conversation by those trash cans. But things and people just keep getting in the way.

I straighten my body from the lean I once had on the wall at the sound of the door opening.

"Can we talk?" I ask Olivia and she slowly bites down on her bottom lip before taking a deep breath.

"Oh—Kay!" She says, a little, hesitantly.

"I'm— happy to see you," I admit.

"Really? Because I've been trying to contact you." She says and I know it seems messed up on my part but I was confused. "If I didn't know you were working with my dad, I wouldn't have known you were alive."

Her words are dramatic. I responded to a few text but they were vague and extremely generic.

"I was trying to give you the space you needed to handle business. But I see that just drove you closer to him."

"Closer to who?" She asks confused.

"He posted up pictures with you in Miami all week," I mumble as I drop my head.

"So just like that you give up over a few pictures?"

"I didn't give up. I just didn't know what to think. And the only thing I can't compete with is the history you two have together," I say and she shakes her head.

"Fuck history! Matter of fact, he is history! I'm done with him!"

I pause and take another look at her before leaning back against the wall in serious thought. "So when you say you and him are history— you mean you're broken up. And he knows it?"

"I told him myself," she answers with a satisfied grin. "Do you not trust me?"

"So is that why you're here with that guy?" I ask, purposely ignoring her last question.

"Tristan was just being nice." She answers. "Besides, you saw me come in with my girls. Or were you blinded by Yonni's big booty?"

I laugh at her sarcasm. But I understand what that must've looked like to her.

"Apparently, her and Shawn planned this celebratory party since I got the job with your Pops." I explain. "But I think this party was more for them and those random ass people they invited. Just so they could have an excuse to drink and pop edibles."

She smiles. "You deserve to be celebrated. Working with my dad is big. Especially for someone just breaking into the industry. It might not mean much right now, but I'm proud of you too."

"Thank you! It means a lot. I just wish my mom and sister could be here," I tell her truthfully.

"FaceTime them! I mean, I know it's not the same, but at least they can see all of the love you're getting in their place—- not that they can ever be replaced." Olivia suggest, making me smile.

"They're not really answering my calls right now. And as soon as I figure out why, I'll let you know." I tell her and she seems concerned.

"Do you have someone who can go check on them?"

"You know what? I can text my pops. I mean he's not with my mom, but he's not far." I answer with a small smirk before typing him a message in my phone.

"Why are you smiling and smirking? This could be serious." She asks me as I press send.

I put my phone away. "I know— I'm not smiling about that. It's just that—- I tried to tell Yonni about it and she shrugged it off as nothing. But you— well— well you just seem like you care a lot more."
