14. But It Feels Right

Spencer's POV

"And that is a wrap," Billy yells before I smile.

I listen to everyone clap as I take in everything that's been happening this past week.

"First week down! Eleven and forever more to go!" Billy says as everyone starts to leave the room.

I bet he can tell by the stoic look on my face that this is a dream come true.

"Sir, I'd like to thank you for this opportunity," I tell him sincerely.

"Luckily for you, it won't be your last rounds of table reads," he compliments me and I smile. "You're a star, kid!"

"I just needed a chance," I admit before seeing Shawn walk through the doors.

"Get used to it! Because I'm in major talks with Netflix about a deal."

My eyes are big and it sounds like he wants me to be apart of whatever major deal with Netflix he has coming.

"No way!" I say as my heart beats faster. "Are you for real?"

He nods and I hug him tightly!

"You're the one and the two, Spencer James!" Billy tells me and I smile big.

"Yo big timer," Shawn interrupts before I give him a huge hug.

"Mr. B, this is my guy Shawn. Shawn, this is the bossman, Mr. B!" I introduce them and they shake hands.

"Nice to meet you," he says before Billy shakes his hand.

"You want some screen time too?" He asks and Shawn smiles.

"Nah, that's my boy's thing. Not mine! But I am trying to get into music." He takes his opportunity and Billy nods.

"I may know a few people. Just be patient. I'll let Spencer know if something comes up for you," he tells me and Shawn thanks hi' as he walks away to talk to one of his colleagues.

"Bro this whole week been like a dream," I say honestly.

"I know! And that's why I came to take you bowling with the gang," he says and typically I'd say no. But even I want to celebrate my latest accomplishment.

"Okay, cool! Just let me get my things."

"Alright, Spencer! Remember, we have four days off. And I need you to rest up since we start filming early Tuesday."

"Yes, sir!" I say as I grab my bag and walk out of the building with Shawn.

"My cousin is in town with her girls. Plus I got, my boys Chris, Asher and Cam coming through." He tells me as we hop in his new car.

"This is nice!" I say.

"Staying with moms really helped me save to get this. And just think, your first acting pay check is coming soon. And you'll be able to buy two of these!" He tells me and I rub my hands at the sound of that.

"I know I'm living out my dreams, but this money is going to be a game changer," I admit as we pull off.

We vibe to classic West Coast music and Shawn offers me weed that I, kindly, turn down.

"You're off for four days, man! Live a little!" He insist and I just laugh as I enjoy the bright lights of the city.

"I can't wait to tell my mom about this," I say as I dial her number, but it goes straight to voicemail.

"Oh yeah, before we get there, I have to tell you I saw Yonni when I was picking up some food earlier. And I mentioned the bowling function to her." Shawn explains before I hang up the phone.
