Sammy’s POV:

When Hayes and Jack G left for the rides me and Jay headed in the opposite direction to the games. I was just getting to know Jason so this would be a good time to get to know him- or at least just chill together.  

“Which game should we do Jay?” I asked.

“Let’s do the balloon dart thingy. I’m like such a beast at that”

“Oh I’m sure you are Jay…”

We both laughed and paid the guy at the balloon stand for some darts. I missed the damn balloon every time. Then when Jay went up he hit 5 in a row. The guy gave him a giant Jamaican Banana.

“I’m gonna give this to Cat!” he said to me.

“Young love is the best love Jay.”

“I hope that me and Cat last and all that stuff because I wanted to ask her out officially tonight.”

“You are?! Make it special”

“Yeah I was thinking about doing it on like the ferris wheel or something”

 

“Dude thats perfect she’s gonna love it and she’ll no doubt say yes”

 

“Well if she doesn’t I don’t really know what I’d do.”

 

“She will don’t you worry. Did you ask her to hang out with you yet?”

 

“No i’ve been too nervous to.”

 

“Well let’s call her. Like right now.”

 

“Okay… fine I guess its now or never.”

 

Jason pulled out his phone, stared at it then finally unlocked it and opened up the keypad and dialed Cat. He turned it on speaker so that I could secretly listen to the conversation. After 2-3 rings she picked up.

 

“Hey Jay!” she said sounding cheerful.

 

“Hi Cat! I miss you…” Jay responded

“Aw Jay I miss you too! What are you up to?”

 

“Im at the boardwalk with Sammy. But um I have a question for you.” Jason said nervously.

 

“Sure what’s up?”

 

“Well I-uh wanted to know if you’d like to go out, like on a date with me to the boardwalk tonight.”

 

“I’d love to! What time?”

 

Jason’s face lit up like a rocket and it was great to see him so happy after the whole Shawn incident.

 

“We can walk over at like 7:30?” Jason informed Cat.

 

“Sounds good! see you then Jay!” Cat said cheerfully.

 

Jason hung up the phone and started jumping up and down screaming I HAVE A DATE YAAAAAS WHOOOO! I grabbed his armpits and hoisted him up lion king style so he could scream his excitement to all the strangers on the boardwalk.

“SAM SAM PUT ME DOWN,” Jason said all of the sudden sounding scared and nervous.

 

“What?” I asked him.

 

“Shawn, Carter and Matt are walking over to us and I made eye contact with them.”

 

“I thought they went bowling” I said surprised.

 

“I guess they wanted to come here instead. Don’t let Shawn do anything to me Sam.” Jason said sounding more terrified than I’d ever heard him sound.

 

“I will. Just stay behind me and they won’t lay a finger on you.” I pushed Jason behind my back and then I saw Jack and Hayes come running over from the rides. Jack looked extremely worried yet angry at the same time.

 

“Did you guys see them too?” Jack asked referring to Shawn, Carter and Matt.

 

“Yeah just ignore them unless they approach us” I said.

 

“They’re obviously going to approach us. Jason’s here and Nash isn’t here to protect him like he usually does. Perfect time for Shawn to get even more violent” Hayes said sounding annoyed.

 

“I can handle Shawn myself. I’m not a coward,” Jason said sounding reluctant.

 

Suddenly Jason took off down the boardwalk in the direction of Shawn. Jack sprinted after him with me and Hayes close behind so Jason wasn’t alone. Shawn saw Jason running towards him and smirked while he kicked out his leg. Jason was running too fast to stop running and tripped over his leg skidding across the surface of the boardwalk probably collecting a few splinters on his fall. We all stood in shock that Shawn actually did that then we sprang into action jumping to Jason’s side while Carter, Matt and Shawn laughed their heads off. Jason was clenching his fists with blood trickling down his arm and tears streaming down his face. He was in a lot of pain.

 

“What’s your problem Shawn?” Jason asked sounding exhausted of the fighting.

 

“You,” Shawn said kicking sand into Jasons face.

 

“Yeah well you’re about to have ten more problems,” Jack said clenching his fist and lunging at Shawn. I grabbed his shirt and yanked him back. I could see some fans gathering and I didn’t want him to do anything bad in front of them.

 

“Come on Jack its not worth it,” I said pulling him away from Shawn.

 

Jack and Hayes helped Jason back on his feet and we started to walk home. Jason turned around and looked straight at Shawn.

 

“You know Shawn I thought that out of all the people here you would be one of  my closest friends. But you’re just a jerk.” Jason said as he turned and walked away with us.

 

Shawn’s eyes widened and he looked guilty, but he just shook his head and looked at the ground. We all turned and walked Jason back to the condo to help him get back on his feet for his date tonight.
