Moving Out

Nash’s POV:

It was always nice to have Jason around. He was such a good kid and has always been the most loyal and devoted friend to me and Hayes, even if we weren’t...

“So…. me and Bart have been talking and we think that you would be the best addition to the magcon family.” I said to Jason trying to contain my excitement.

The look on his face was so priceless I wished I could have recorded it. Hayes was leaning on the edge of his seat anxiously awaiting Jason’s response. He finally managed to choke out “Are you serious??”

“YES!” I screamed as loud as I could right into his ear.

“I-I uhm I don’t know what to say!” Jason said.

“JUST SAY YES DUMMY!” laughed Hayes.

“YES YES a MILLION times YES!” Jason leapt up from the table pulling me and Hayes into a huge group hug.

“Yes! well you only missed one magcon but you’ll be able to come with us to all the others! The next one is this weekend at New Jersey.”

“I’ll be there! Once I just tell my parents and arrange plans for Em-”

“Oh don’t be silly dear she’ll stay here!” said my mom Elizabeth who I didn’t even realize was listening.

“Thanks Liz!” Jason smiled at my mom.

“Well Jason we have a big day of halo ahead of us so shaaaalll wee,” Hayes

said in the snobbiest accent ever.

“Oh yes we shall,” retorted Jason with an even snobbier accent.

Magcon was about to change in the biggest way and for the best reasons.

Jason’s POV:

After a long, fun day at the Griers, I headed home to pack for magcon this weekend. I can’t believe I get to New Jersey for magcon.  I’ll be able to see my cousin Quinn, which reminds me I should text her.

Me: Quinn! guess who got invited to Magcon and is coming to New Jersey this weekend!

Quinn: Who?!

Me:Um who do you think… ME YOU GOON!

Quinn: OMG! Can you get me tickets?

Me: How about some VIP tickets for you and a friend.

Quinn: Omg YES!! Thanks so much! I’ll bring Courtney! I can’t wait to see you!

Me:   :)

I strolled home from the griers humming to the tune of Happy with Emmy since we both loved to sing together until I heard it. The yelling, and bickering of my parents non-stop. It was awful and made me so mad that they had the nerve to do so publicly in front of Emmy. I picked Emmy up slammed open the door and stormed to my room without making eye contact. I tried to pack tuning out everything I could.

*3:24 AM*

I wake up to a door slam and the sound of a car speeding away. My mother has left, this time for good. It’s weird I honestly didn’t even feel upset, this seemed like the last straw. I knew that my dad was not responsible enough for me and Emmy alone, so I would have to yet again play the role of an adult at just 14 years old. Life can be unfair sometimes but what do I have to complain about? Im going on MAGCON! Then another door slammed open.

“AHHHHHHH” my dad screamed in anger and exhaustion in Emmy’s room.

Although it was unintentional, he scared the crap out of her which lead to a panic/cry attack. I did what I had to do and grabbed my suitcase and threw some of Emmy’s close in and ran with her to the Griers. They were my family now.

Hayes’s POV:

I woke up to the sound of my mom crying and the terrified voices of Jason and Emmy. I could tell that Nash was awake too because the light in his room turned on.

“And then she just left,” I could hear Jason explain.

“Oh honey I am so sorry you are more than welcome to stay with us for as long as you need,”  my mom reassured Jason.

Nash walked into my room with a worried look on his face, me and him both knew that although he may not show it, Jason was getting hurt by this in a big way.

“Is he gonna be ok?” I asked Nash.

“I hope so but the only thing we can do to help him right now is be there for him.”

We heard Jason tuck in his sister with Skylynn then walk down the hall to my room. As soon as he got to my door he collapsed and buried his eyes into his arms. He used to always hold in his feelings but now he was finally letting them go. It hurts me inside to see my best friend like this.

“Hey Jay don’t cry, please don’t me and Hayes are here for you.” said Nash as he crouched beside Jason.

I followed this movement and sat with Jason until he had the courage to sit up and look at me.

“It’s just not fair you know? It’s not fair for anyone to ever go through this and sometimes I just can’t take it anymore. I feel like i’m trapped inside a nightmare and I just can’t wake up!” said Jason through tears.

“Well we’re always here for you whenever you need help, anything at all just talk to me and Nash”

“Yeah and you’re doing a great job with helping emmy, its not your fault what happened tonight, it never was. Now lets get some sleep we have a big weekend ahead of us,” instructed Nash.

Jason smiled and past out in my bed. I laughed and took out my sleeping bag so I wouldn’t disturb the sleeping beauty.
