Jack G’s POV:
I was starting to get pretty pumped for magcon today. I was gonna sing Distance, Flights and debut Paradise for all the fans! I hope they’ll like it as much as Jason did because Jack J and I put so much work into it. I walked downstairs to the lobby where I saw Hayes frantically searching something on his phone, Shawn playing music off of his laptop, and Jason pacing back and forth with his hands ripping out pieces of his hair.
“Um whats going on here?” I asked
“Were trying to help Jason figure out what song he should sing to Cat,” Hayes responded.
“I AM GOING TO BLOW IT. I DON’T LIKE ANY OF THESE SONGS,” Jason said while slamming Shawn’s computer shut.
“Well then why’d you promise Cat you’d sing to her in the first place,” Shawn said rolling his eyes.
“I dont know but the fact of the matter is I did say that and now i’m FREAKING out.” Jason yelled.
“Relax Jay there has to be one song you know she’ll like,” Hayes tried to reassure Jason.
“I have an idea!” Shawn popped up from his seat.
“TELL ME MAN, TELL ME!” Jason grabbed the front of Shawn’s shirt.
“SING! by Ed Sheeran! It’s such a hard song to sing but if anyone can do it, you can Jay. We believe in you,” Shawn replied.
“Oh yeah I think I heard that song. You really think I can do it? Isn’t there like a half-rap half-singing part that like only Ed Sheeran can physically do??”
I laughed and calmed him down “Jason relax we can help you learn the song on our way to Magcon which reminds me we have to leave… like now.”
We printed a copy of the lyrics to the song Sing by Ed Sheeran and then made our way over to the vans. I sat next to Jason so I could help him memorize the lyrics. I covered his eyes with my hands to see if he remembered the song.
“Okay Jay say the chorus.”
“I need you darling
Come on set the tone
If you feel you're falling
Won't you let me know” He repeated back.
“Perfect. You got every word!”
“Yeah but I still have so much more to memorize. But this HAS to be the song I sing at this point it’s too late to change it again.”
“You got this Jason. Trust me.”
Honestly, I didn’t think Jason would get all the lyrics down, but I knew he would still do great. He has a tendency to doubt himself and I hope he doesn’t choke on stage because of that.
