giselle | rain and cry

"will do, but can you possibly check the papers tomorrow?" you stood in front of the teacher's desk, asking questions regarding the reports that she assigned the whole class to submit by the end of the week.

"of course, meet me maybe.. after the last period" miss kwon said, you nodded in response and bowed before leaving the office.

rain started pouring as soon as you step foot out of the office, the sound of the rain hitting the roof makes you feel at ease somehow. you always liked the rain, as it brings some type of ease to your messy heart. letting out a sigh you pick up your bagpack before slipping out your phone from your pocket.

you pulled down your mask a bit so that the face id works, as it unlocks you went to the notification bar and noticed a couple of messages from the person you wish would stop texting you.

you bit your lips, your thumbs hovering over the keyboard thinking about what to reply. yet nothing comes to mind.

you and giselled were in a healthy relationship that lasted for about 10 months. everyone knew you guys as the highschool lovers, even the teachers and the principal. i mean who won't?

you and giselle were inseparable, and that was because of how clingy giselle was. she would wait for you every recess to go eat together, wait for you after class ends and even go to your class whenever she went for a toilet break just to see you. she was head over heels for you.

and you liked it, you like how her cheeks ball up and the corner of her lips raise up everytime you guys make eye contact with each other. you like how she would interlock her slender finger with yours as you guys walk.

everynight she would always text you goodnight and send you cute voice messages.

though you weren't as expressive as her, you'd make sure she felt loved everytime she's with you. you'd buy her her favorite jelly everyday and coffee to keep her awake during class. treat her tteokbokki after a study session and stick post its on her locker.

everything went fine until last month, your class ended late around 8pm and you couldn't go home with giselle. you were taking your things at your locker when you heard people talking in a class that was lit up by dim lights.

you didn't intend to eavesdrop but you heard a familiar voice talking so you decided to peek, there you saw giselle talking to karina. you were about to call out for her when you heard something that broke your heart to pieces

"it's getting boring," giselle said in a frustrated voice, a sigh was heard coming from her.

"with him?" karina asked. giselle nodded and played with her fingers.

"i lost feelings" giselle said in a low voice, she covered her face and rested her hand on the desk.

"wha-"

*thud* your bag fell on the ground

upon hearing the loud thud, giselle and karina both turn their head towards your direction. karina's eyes was wide open and so was giselle's. giselle stood up from her seat, seeing that, you immediately picked up your bag and walk away from her

"babe!" giselle called as she try to chase you and pick up her pace to match yours

"wait for me! where are you going?" giselle managed to grab your wrist, you turned around and removed her hand from yours

"im going as far as i can from you" you said pulling your bag strap up to your shoulder. you let out a sigh before trying to walk away but giselle grabbed the end of your shirt and held on to it

"i didnt mean it" she shook her head, tired of her bullshit, you rolled your eyes before swatting her hand and walking away

ever since that day you have been ignoring every texts and calls you received from her, even at school you acted like she doesn't exist. brushing past her shoulders without even sparing a single look.

everyone thought you guys broke up, some girls even tried talking to you and confessing but you politely rejected them. same thing happened to giselle, but she just couldn't accept them, that was when she realised that she still likes you though she told karina she lost feelings.

back to present, you grabbed your umbrella from your locker and opened it as you walk out of the school, making your way to the main entrance.

you see giselle waiting for you under the rain without any umbrella, as you got closer to her, the faster your heart beats. though you act like you dont, you still love her. your heart still beats fast everytime you see her pretty face.

"you're here" giselle smiled faintly before raising her head up to match her eyes with your eyes, you looked at her coldly.

"it's pouring, make it fast" you sighed, giselle bit her lips as she played with her fingers, she took a step towards you and gently went to grab your hand.

"i'm sorry, about that day. i don't know how long you were there listening to me and karina talk, and i know this sounds so much like bullshit but i-" giselle tighten her grip on your hand. her eyes red, her tears probably was hidden by the rain that was falling on her face.

"stop.." you moved your hand away from her. she looked at you, guilt was written all over her face. how could she mess up all of this, she knows she can't turn everything back to normal because what she said was really hurtful.

"im going home, i forgive you but dont talk to me anymore. act like you don't know me, act like we're strangers" you said before walking away from her, giselle stood there in silence, should she just let you go? should she try and fix it?

just then, you felt pair of hands wrapped around your waist stopping you from walking.

"i love you, please dont leave me. let me fix this, honey" giselle sobbed, you seperated her hands apart before looking back at her.

"i love you too, but i have to face the truth that it's not working anymore" you told her.

"what you said, think about what you said and imagine yourself in my position. im sorry aeri, please- please just let me go" you sighed, giselle broke down in front of you, you felt like a jerk, making a girl cry as the rain pour.

it took you a lot of courage to walk away from her, and after a couple of seconds you managed to walk away from the scene.
