Haha look there's more.

Basically, this is an extra short.

The title is the title, and the boy's name after the title indicates whom the short is centered around. Also, the word "short" may or may not be completely wrong; I'm not sure how long some of these might be (I mean, I've made about-5,000-word "shorts" in the ATE extras before, but we're gonna ignore that).

Long story short, the main story is over. Anything after that will be extras, and yes, requests will be accepted, but these are mostly side works that I write when I have nothing else inspiring me.

Now, let's have a nice vote! I'm curious..

Who's your favorite boy? (Pick one, please? If you have a tie, maybe flip a coin?)

Killer.

Horror.

Dust (my personal favorite :3).

Cross.

Error.

Comments are welcome and appreciated!

Please enjoy!

I was seventeen years old today, and I really had no idea what was in my future. I was the last of the Guardians of Emotion to be assigned with my job, and I was slightly worried about that. Dad was in charge of negativity; he made people feel bad. Killer was in charge of the emotionless and soulless beings; he deterred them from trying to interfere with the emotions of others. Horror was in charge of the hungry; he had taken to giving them food, although it was a difficult task. Dust was in charge of those who were in scary situations and those who needed a good scare to prevent them from doing something disastrous; he either comforted or scared the life out of them. Error wasn't a Guardian of Emotion; he already had his job, which was to destroy universes that weren't needed. I was the last one, then. The Guardian of the Independent was going to meet the world today..and he was by no means ready.

"Crossy?" Error stood outside my bedroom door. "Are you okay in there?"

"Yes, just studying!" I lied; I was too anxious to study.

"Crossy, I don't hear any pages flipping! What are you doing in there?"

"I'm just a bit tired, Error; I'll be fine."

"But we're waiting for you! We have cake!"

"..Is it chocolate?"

"It's always chocolate!"

I sighed. "I'll be out in a few minutes."

"Okay!"

Error walked away from my door, and I buried my face back into my pillow. For a "Guardian of the Independent," I didn't feel very independent..I wanted to dig a hole, bury myself, and never come out..

"Come on, Cross.." I muttered to myself. "You can do this..it's only five steps..then the hallway.."

I found myself unable to muster the will to leave my room. Ten minutes passed, and another knock came at my door.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Dust was there.

"..." I didn't respond.

"I was like this, too, if you recall..I'll listen, if you need me.."

"..."

"Locking yourself in your room isn't going to delay it..it might only make it worse."
