"I am an emotional boy." I finally concluded.
"What?"
"I am an emotional boy" I repeated.
"What do you mean?"
"It means what it means." I told Charlotte.
It was a Saturday today which meant a whole weekend of whatever I wanted to do as long as I finished my 1000-page essay about the plot of Julius Caesar.
"What makes you say that?"
"Well, I cry. A whole lot." I laughed at my remark. "I also say lots of emotional crap like "My parents are in the sun." What kind of dumbass says that? I swear, if I was a character in a story book, I'd complain to my writer. I'd change it if I could. My writer is so stupid but he or she gave me intelligence and stuff like that so maybe he or she is smart, too..?"
"Calvin, Calvin, I'm losing you." Charlotte told me, bringing me out of my trail of thought.
"Long story short, I am an emotional wreck."
"Now that I think about it, you are. Otherwise, you wouldn't start dating Iris without the need to have sexual intercourse with her. Are you gay?"
Suddenly, I was coughing from my saliva. "What? No."
"Well, you thought you liked Jinx but when you find her climbing into your bedroom, you don't get those weird guy hormones, you just kick her out. You know she likes you but you just reject her despite your obvious feelings for her."
"No way!"
"So you don't like her?"
"No!"
"So you don't not like her?"
"No!...Wait, what?"
"Ugh, You're so confusing."
"No, you're confusing."
"Doubt it."
"I give up." I sighed and stood from my seat. "I'm never gonna get anywhere with that damned girl."
I heard a silent giggle come from her. "Did you know that your mouth twitches when you cuss? It's quite hilarious."
"What are you, a Brit? Your grammar is confusing." I said but at that moment, I had the slightest flashback of when Jinx was with me.
"I see that you're hungry." She said.
"Yeah, no shit."
"I also see that you're an angel."
I started to get curious. "What are you talking about?"
"Your lip twitches every time you curse. Haven't you noticed that?"
"Fuck." I said, burying my head between my knees.
"What's wrong?"
"I just had a flashback. Something similar happened with Jinx."
"Well, you know, you can just forget about her." Her voice appeared to be a little distant. I didn't know what made it sound that way but it just did. "Why don't you just think about me? I like you..."
I was shocked. I didn't know what she meant by that but before I could even process what she meant by those words, her lips were on mine and she was kissing me.
I quickly shoved her away and told her, "I'm sorry but I don't like you like that." I stood and ran as fast as I could. What's with girls these days? Are they always like this? They're just kissing and kissing and kissing! I thought. Don't they give chances to the guy before they do such irresponsible acts?!
The moment I was far enough, I knelt down on the pavement, gasping for air.
"Well, you were never the most athletic of the group."
It was Jinx.
