I was a little drowsy this morning but definitely better than at the party and thinking back to last night, Mississippi didn't seem as bad. He helped me when I needed him, gave me whatever I needed whenever I needed it. He was nice.
Tonight was the night. We were gonna watch the ball drop which I was quite excited to watch, even though we were just watching from the television. Jordan and Mississippi invited over Pericles and his recruits in a way of getting to know each other, that part I was nervous. They would be here by seven at night. But of course, there's got to be a ton more Kristina Clare's in this godforsaken planet so I'm probably getting nervous for nothing.
"Morning, Calvin." Mississippi greeted while Jinx simply walked in, taking a piece of fruit from the fruit basket. We never exactly made up.
"Good morning, Mississippi." I replied, biting into my peanut butter sandwich. "Since we're having this whole New Year's thing, would it be okay if I cooked? I mean, you've been doing a lot of things for me and I just want to pay you back."
We'd be delighted. We were planning on ordering pizza from Pizza Hut but now that you've suggested it, sure. Just one question, when you cook, is the food poisoned?"
"No...?"
"Okay! You're hired!"
"Oh okay." I laughed. "What kind of food do you have in mind? I don't want to accidentally cook something you wouldn't like."
"I kinda want something like...I don't know..." He chuckled. "I really don't know. Like I said, all we were planning on doing was ordering pizza. We never exactly have home-cooked food."
"Does every biker gang live off of fruit and takeaway?" I asked amused.
"Apparently so."
"Okay then, so I am going to show you all what real cooking is like. Will that be fine, Sir Mississippi?"
"I would be delighted, my good man." He said and bowed to add more effect. I heard Jinx snort after that. Weirdo.

I was now at the cashier having finished looking for the ingredients for the dinner tonight, for the appetizer, Spinach Artichoke Dip, for the main, Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta and for dessert, Blueberry Cheesecake.
"Thank you for shopping!" The cashier greeted, smiling.
"Thank you." I replied as I smiled back. I looked around the store and noticed that not much people were here and since I still had some time, I decided to spark up a conversation with the lady. "Not much business today, huh?"
She seemed surprised by my question, probably expecting me to have left instead. "Yeah. After all, tonight's New Year's Eve, people would prefer to stay at home with their families."
"Why aren't you? If I may ask."
"I want the extra money and our meeting for the New Year's will still be at around 7pm."
"What a coincidence, ours too." I laughed. "My name's Calvin, by the way. What's yours?"
"Calvin? As in Calvin James?" She asked.
"...Yes. How do you know me? Have met before?" My eyes widened. "Are you some kind of ghost here to take me away to hell for stealing my classmate's pencils? I swear, I put them right back after I took them!"
She giggled. "No, no, no. It's me, Tia. I'm one of the recruits of Pericles?"
"You?"
"Yes. It's nice meeting you, Calvin." She smiled.
