Chapter 2: Drunk Lily

"Rai, you're late." Mom casually smiled when I entered the study. "How's school, darling?"

Mom was sitting on the swivel chair at the center of the study while dad is standing beside her by the big arch window like that of Versailles Palace that can be opened to fully oversee the whole back mansion and the lake.

This is the study room of the previous head of the family and now dad's.

"Good." Maikli kong sagot ng makalapit sa desk.

"It's nice to hear that, anak." Dad gave me a warm smile.

"In a few days, your dad and I will need to go back to Manila. Lily is taking a break for the mean time so, she'll be here with you and your sister." Mom explained.

I shook my head. Well, it's not that I'm in need of being under supervision by adults. Akala ko nga ay umalis na si dad papuntang manila right after dropping me and my sister to school.

"When exactly are you leaving?" I looked at mom and then dad.

"We left david to supervise while we're all here so, I guess we'll be returning as soon as possible." Mom answered.

"Oh." I nodded.

"Dra. Domingo will also be visiting soon to see how you're doing and... how you're coping up with the new environment. So, you can be rest assured and just relax." Lumapit sakin si dad and was about to pat my shoulder ng tignan ko ang kamay niya.

He took it back and only gave me a small smile instead.

"I see."

The sudden call came so I excused myself and retired to my room. I can tell I've got a long ahead of me.

Kinabukasan, well, what do you know, I stand corrected.

"Shit!" Nagulat ako ng makita kong sa dinami dami ng pwedeng maupo sa tabi ko ay siya pa talaga.

"Ever since we met you've been like that towards me. Don't you think you're being too rude now?"

I shot my brow. Oh, I don't think he knows what the word rude means. At siya pa talagang nagsabi na rude ako ha?

"What are you doing here?!"

"Uh, nauupo?" He responded as if it's common sense.

"Kanina ka pa ata jan, why didn't you atleast speak-you startled me!" Mahinang sigaw ko sa mukha niya.

"My bad." He smiled.

Ooh... the audacity.

He's so unbelievable, really! Magsasalita pa sana ako ng biglang dumating ang prof. At inalis niya na saakin ang paningin niya saka umayos ng upo at tumingin na sa harapan.

Showing off his side profile. Now, he just made my whole day feel like it'll be all uncomfortable. I don't like sitting beside a guy.

His thick black brows, deep serious eyes, long eyelashes, pinpointed nose, thin lips and his perfectly angled jaw.

Naningkit ang mata ko, I feel uncomfortable and a bit upset looking at the perfect angle of his long slim neck with his adams apple.

"Deep breaths... Okay." I said to myself. Let's not ruin the day when we're just getting settled.

And so, I spent the whole day being in the same room with him. I just kept my mouth shut and remained focus on the lessons till it ended without a commotion but he couldn't just let it be.

The professor was amazed to how ang maliit na sagotan sa pagitan namin ended into a small unnecessary debate. Though everyone enjoyed it, I was really getting pissed with him.
