Chapter 13: Tension in between

Napakamot naman ako sa ulo. To tell the truth, i was too tipsy to even count. But i think i drank different types of alcohol because drinks kept coming on my table from different corners of the room.

"Maybe 5 kinds."

"Kinds?"

"Yeah. I had a martini, margarita, the whisky you drank plus other drinks i don't even know."

"That's too much, rai." my eyes furrowed by what he said.

"Well, it was free so..." Wala naman akong binayaran.

During the ride home i kept talking about anything that comes to my mind and axel just put up with all of it. Plus, I've never seen him laugh that loud even in school.

I probably dozed off after talking too much and i woke up all wrapped up with axel's white polo. Napasilip naman ako sa window ng driver's seat dahil wala siya and saw him walking towards the car. Napatingin ako sakaniya pagbukas niya ng pinto ng driver's seat. He's holding a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Good, you're awake." He smiled when he saw me awake. "Here. Drink this. I can't let you go home in this drunken state." He handed me the coffee.

I got the coffee and looked at him while he buckles his seatbelt.

"You know, you're actually not that bad." I said smilingly looking at the coffee as it warms my cold hands.

He snorted before turning the engine on. "You think so?" Tumango naman ako.

"I mean, I imagined the worse but, I guess this is good too."

"Yeah?" He said sexily.

Is it just me or the alcohol that's making it sound like anything he say is just so manly and sexy.

"Axe, can you stop the car a bit?"

"Huh? Do you need to pee? We're almost there."

"No. Just stop the car." Nalilito man ay itinigil niya rin ang sasakyan. Nilapag ko ang coffee sa harapan at inalis ang seatbelt saka bumaba.

In this part of the road, wala ng mga bahay at puro na lang mga kakahoyan. The cold air brushed my shoulders. Malapit na nga kami sa manor de Leon as our property is secluded and way outside of the village.

"Rai, please get in the car." I heard the car's door closed.

"I'm not gonna pee! Just wait for me in a minute." God, this is so frustrating. I blew harshly on the cold air.

"Then, what's the matter?" My heartbeat raced when I heard his footsteps come closer.

Shit. I can't just drink the coffee or I really might piss myself right here right now. So, let's just get some nice cold air.

"Raizza."

Napapikit ako ng mariin when he stood right behind me.

"I can't touch you. So please, let's get back inside the car. It's dangerous out here." Mahinahon niyang sabi.

I heaved a deep breath before letting it go. Then, humarap ako sakaniya at dahan dahang tumango bago ako naglakad papunta sa sasakyan at tuluyang pumasok.

Bumalik na rin siya sa loob and he started driving again, this time silence engulfed us. This is awkward. This is why I should've never be drinking. I think drinking habits are badly passed down in our family.

"We're here."

I shall never drink again. This is just so humiliating on my part.

"Rai." I heard my seatbelt clicked and when I look, axel's face is right in front of me, he unbuckled the seatbelt in a great distance. But still I could smell the whisky on his breath. "You're out of it." He added.
