"Rai... Hey.""Huh?" Napalingon ako kay axel. I didn't even notice he was calling me.
"You okay?" He looked at me with his deep dark set of eyes.
"Ah. Yeah."
"Mr. Navarrete is looking for you. Tara, I'll take you to him." He subtly slipped his hand inside his pockets and tilted his head a little.
I feel a little dizzy. My body wants to lay down. Ugh. Not a good timing.
We got to professor Navarrete's office. I slightly got nervous upon why the professor asked for me but he only called me to give me praise.
"And one more thing ms. de Leon. I want you and axel to carry out an advance case study. You two are one of my best students in the class. I'll give you extra points for this. Are you up for it?"
This is surprising, I just failed to answer him during the last recitation a few days ago but now he's saying I'm one of his best students. Though, I did ace his recent quiz and he said my reporting was excellent so.
"Can I ask the purpose of it, sir?" I asked.
"Well, there's a seminar coming up for the first years and the case study you two will be doing will be one of the lessons that we'll showcase."
I'm doing well on his subject and he was quite impressed by last week's report. This would be a great opportunity but he's clearly passing us their loads and saying they'll give us extra points for it.
Axel is like the teacher's pet, seeing that he already said yes to this. Well, I've got no choice. When I got out of his office, axel was leaning his back on the wall next the door.
"Congrats." Sabi mi axel nang makalabas kami ng office ng prof, pertaining to the reporting I did.
"Thank you." I gave him a half smile.
"Meron ka na bang idea para sa case study?"
"None yet." We talked over the walk.
But conversing with him doesn't mean that I'm not aware of the people around us. I'm always good at reading the room while maintaining my composure.
Girls would stare at us with a glare or distaste. Those three were right. But what about it? I don't have anything to do with axel.
Calm yourselves down, I don't give a damn about him.
He's all yours.
"Umm. I need to go." Tumango lang siya at umalis na ako.
Geez. I really don't like the girls'stares. You can all have him. Besides, now that I got my hands full I need to get on with the case study first.
The seminar is in two weeks. I need a grasp on what topic we'll be discussing.
Though I better not stick around with axel, as much as I want to be more sociable again and give myself more freedom of acquaintance in the opposite sex, I don't think being close with that guy is a good idea anymore.
The admiration of girls towards me turned into envy and jealousy because of him, not that I like the feeling of them admiring me.
It's just feels heavy having people stare daggers front and behind my back.
I have to get of this heavy load off my back. It feels ominous. I shuddered.
Jesus.
Why did prof Navarrete had to major in business and nursing?! It's such a hassle to move from one building to another especially with the heat today! Para akong nalula pagdating sa hagdan ng building.
